I've been connecting to Sprint's Vision service via a LG5350 --> SupplyNet Cable --> iPaq 3650 for over a month and it's worked perfectly (so I know my settings are correct). However, now it won't work at all. Every time that I try to connect I get a response on my iPaq that no modem can be detected (same as if I don't have a cable/phone connected at all). Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone heard of Sprint performing any sort of updates to phones to disable data service through the COM Port?

As a side note, when this WAS actually functioning I tested my download speed several times but I never went above 100kbps. Is anyone aware if this is the max speed the SupplyNet cable will transmit or is this a wall I'm hitting on the Vision capability?

    Thanks for the comments.

Hey, That cable is not supported by Sprint and is flakey at best. We did not change anything to block that type of service so nothing on that end. Maybe try a hard reset and reconfig. the modem properties. The reason you only hit around 100kps is because the iPaq 3650 is only a 206mhz processor. If you had it hooked up to a laptop it would go faster. Our network caps out around 144kps.

Well, I tried a hard reset on the PocketPC and I also "rebooted" the phone by taking the battery off for a couple of minutes. I reconfigured all the settings to match what had worked before and still no dice. The message I'm getting seems like the PocketPC can't detect that the phone is even present. Can anyone comment on the odds of the SupplyNet cable going bad? To me it seems unlikely that the cable just quit working but I can't think of anything else it could be. Has anyone else experienced any problems w/ the SupplyNet cables? Thanks.

Well, it turns out it WAS the cable. I got a new cable from SupplyNet (after a fight I might add - this company S-U-C-K-S!!). Anyway, I got the new cable, plugged it up, and it connected fine. Just for kicks I hooked up the old cable - same problem. I've been using the new cable all day with no problems. Thanks.

I just got a suplynet cable ( lg 5350/ visor prism ) and it quit after one day, at least I hope it's the cable. The reason I got the cable is that the content available on my lg is so limited I need to hook into my prism to make it worthwhile. I'm about ready to guit on vision, when my 3 months free service is up I'm going to cancel it unless I get it doing somthing usefull by then. An AM radio has better content than the web by sprint, vision needs glasses!

I had a SupplyNet cable for my iPAQ, but returned it and got a ComCube from Gomadic. Works GREAT, and they have a lifetime adapter exchange, so you can get a new adapter if you get a different PPC. I'm using the ComCube now with my Axim -- a great solution until Sprint declides to grace us with a Bluetooth phone.
