oK, so it can send video, receive video...etc. But why can't it capture video? Is it some kind of feature left out by accident? The phone is all i want it to be but in a way limp due to its lack of video capturing. Can someone please help me out?

Unfortunately, we don't have the technology yet to read your mind, so you still have to post exactly what you're talking about before we can give you an answer. ;)

I flashed my Black V3 and it now has video. Thing is I can't remember where I got the file from.

If you give this site a good look it might be there:

Wait, I thought the black V3 already had the video taking capabilities?

I have my Black V3 for a couple of months now. I got it directly from Europe in the Deluxe package, data cable, leather case, etc.

It did not come video ready. I did have to do some extra work after flashing the phone to give it video which I didn't mention. Most all phones that come video ready I notice have a 15 second time-out and the video ends. Well, after using the flash file to add video to my V3 I tested it by shooting a video and was saying to myself, boy that's a long 15 seconds. Actually it had no time-out on it. It was actually shooting video until all the phone memory was used up or me stopping it, whichever came first. I remember searching for a fix for it and found one in a reflash file which did set the default to 15 seconds like it should be but honestly, from my own usage, I really don't even use the video and am thinking about flashing it again.

I am a Cingular customer and I found a "Monster" flash that will brand it to Cingular settings, screens and all. I don't mind the branding and it will keep all my browser settings also. It will also remove the video which I won't miss. So I will have a Cingular branded Black V3 ;-)

My V551 has an option burried somewhere in the settings to remove the 15 second limit, I did it quite some time ago and I don't remember where the setting was now, but other phones should also have that setting too (I guess).

You can pretty much re-flash any Motorola handset with a camera and enough available memory to capture video. That type of info is all over HoFo and MoMo.

I am not home right now and am carrying my 6230 with me but I am sure my Black V3 has a 60 second maximum display timeout user setting.

I was looking at the seem editing pages that I know of but haven't seen one for the display time-out yet.

If I run accross it I will post it.

    You know, I can't remember.

The European set-up that came with it might not of had it. I flashed the phone with a Cingular Monster Flash File and that might of added the extra option times.

My friends ask me why I did that to a non-branded phone. My concern is that there are no "physical" brands on the phone itself. As far as the Cingular logo's, that don't bother me. I wanted to get rid of the 13 web session companies it came with, European providers, and by flashing it I got all the correct browser, MMS and email settings automatically without having to configure anything manually.

I know what kind of cable not to use. The Motorola "Future Dial" cable has a little box in the middle and it does not work for flashing, etc. There is a hack to fix this but you're best bet is to avoid this cable altogether.

Honestly I wish I didn't do mine because I would up locking my unlocked phone.

When it comes to flashing/flexing you are always taking a chance of trashing your phone.

All I can tell you is the file is good and clean and if you have Motorola PST program it is a piece of cake to do.

That you know of, is there a way to make the internet accesible without doing this. I can't find the settings on the phone to do this. That is my goal with this phone.
