Press Release Source: Verizon Wireless Verizon Wireless Prepared to 'Catch' Customers as Time 'Falls Back' on November 4 Friday November 2, 11:15 am ET Customers Can Rely On the Nation's Most Reliable Wireless Network To Stay On Time When Daylight Savings Time Ends This Year BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Daylight Savings Time (DST) is coming to an end after an extended period, thanks to the Energy Policy Act of 2005. Verizon Wireless, the leading wireless company with the nation's most reliable wireless voice and data network, has made the appropriate adjustments to ensure that the correct time registers on customers' handsets when clocks for most of the United States* "fall back" on November 4, 2007. Wireless phones on the Verizon Wireless network should display the appropriate time as soon as Daylight Savings Time ends. Verizon Wireless uses the GPS system developed by the U.S. Department of Defense that references a Master Clock at the U.S. Naval Observatory for mobile synchronization of phones on the company's network. Verizon Wireless cell sites have GPS receivers that ensure the time on customers' phones is accurate to 10 microseconds. Customers that use some older PDAs and smartphones may require an update or patch to reflect the change from Daylight Savings Time. In addition, third-party applications such as e-mail programs, calendar/scheduling tools, and transaction logging programs on smartphones and PDAs may be impacted. Customers will need to consult the device manufacturer's operating system instructions. Additional information on updates and patches for Verizon Wireless PDA customers is available online at www.verizonwireless.com/dst. Everything that Verizon puts in press releases must be true. They are the best ,they would never put out hype. Right?
Seriously, can't they (all of them) just say it without the we are so wonderful Cr*p They would be more credible too.
I bet more people would actually read the Pr's if they would get to the meat of the subject. Could it be they just don't get it?
I think they get it they just like to show off you know. And with their numbers I guess they do haveing bragging rights.
It cracks me up what VzW will send a press release out for, any and everything. Maybe Sprint outa pick up on this :browani::browani:
