Good to hear my wifes cousin lives in Queen Creek and when we visit her Verizon barely works and Cingular/T-Mobile is very hit and miss so is Nextel. RH
Excellent! Glad to hear that there will be some people using the VZW tower in Queen Creek! That is so far out there!
I travelled the whole new 202 loop out in my 'hood yesterday, & that really is some explosive growth out yonder!!! I did notice some new-ish looking towers in my travels!!! That is cool!!! I had full service the WHOLE stretch!!! That's gonne eventually be one big awesome loop...
The 202 is the loop reaching to all the new great expansion in the valley. I had the opportunity to travel it over the 4th when I went from East Mesa out to I-10 south...Nice stretch of road, and good service!
Glad to hear that coverage is getting better. Wonder when VZW can get full coverage on I-8?? Or does Comment Wireless have the license and coverage for VZW's holes on the interstate south of Phoenix Metro.
I was on I-8 a few weeks ago on my way down and back from Mexico and had fine service. I only took it from I-10 to Gila Bend though...
The part where I-10 and I-8 meet has been covered The part I was talking about was directly southwest of Phoenix and on the way to Yuma.
The map is a little decieving. There actually is coverage in part of the area that isn't shown on your map. See my attachment and my 2 year old spray painting on it where I had coverage a few weeks ago...
I have not been that far down in AZ since 2002 and there were holes here and there as I recall on I-8. Thanks for the update :thumb:
VZW! We just had a AZ meet in greet this past Saturday. I wish we would have known that you were in the valley, we would have loved to have you come!
It's trade off Wiggy, when I was there last Feb. I left the Northeast to minus 0 wind chills. And when I arrived in Providence to come home it was snowing so I got to look forward to shoveling and salting my ski slope of a driveway. So 70 degrees felt pretty good in AZ in the middle of the winter:wink:
After you pass US 85? or the Maricopa road exit, on I-8 going towards Yuma from Tucson, you cut in and out of service until you reach Freeman road after that you basically have no service until you get about 8 miles from Gila Bend. Now about the supposed second non-coverage most of the section is covered. There are some areas where you're in Extended Network but are not really able to get a call through. It may just be my phone needing to update its PRL. I have been travelling through since my days of working for Joe Cristiani and visiting family in Yuma for almost 4 years. It has improved a lot since then. Before there was about 45 minutes of no service now its probably down to 10 to 20 minutes but 20 minutes is on the high side. If you need more details and such of that road from Yuma(I-8) to I-10 in Eloy, AZ let me know I practically have memorized it.
I think Verizon has surpassed Sprint in the major cities in AZ and in Southern CA. Sprint is probably 4th best at most in those areas
