I recently noticed that for the past 5 months Verizon has been applying an Equipment Charge to my bill. In the beginning the fee was $14.34 and has gone as high as $47.67. Does anybody know what this equipment charge is about, and if there is a way for me to get this off my bill? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Odd. Usually equipment charges are when the equipment is charged to the account (which is rare), or you had a phone exchanged but did not return it. Usually it does not appear as a recurring charge. Call customer service. They should be able to clarify what the charge is.
Did you call to change ESN's at all? They now charge about $15 to do that. They supposidly aren't doing that for changes through My Account, but who knows.
My NE2 early upgrade was billed to my account as an equipment charge. Call CS and ask them what this is- don't just pay it. Have you recently done any changes to your equipment?
