    Hi there,

I have had an At&T pay as you go (piece of crap) for the past week and a half and the voice quality is terrible. It cuts in and out constantly and people seem to have trouble hearing me even in urban areas. I am going to take this phone back and get onto a better phone and monthly plan but I have reservations about going with AT&T when the quality was so bad. I thought it was the quality of the phone but we have a friend with an iphone on AT&T who also sounds like they are on a radio phone all the time.

I'm hoping someone who has a Verizon phone in Marin County can tell me if they have any trouble with the voice quality. Having just moved here and only having experience with a these two phones I don't have much experience to go on. Help!

Alright sounds like you can ax out AT&T from your and your friend's experiences. By looking at the maps, it looks like Verizon should cover that county well, at least coverage wise, but Verizon has a 30 day trial period, so the best thing you could do is try them out for yourself.

Before you make a switch perhaps you would like to check the stated coverage on the carriers web sites. I have Verizon although its been sometime since I was up there but there were holes. It may be fine now. Someone here will have newer information, if you are willing to provide an local area. Still I would check all the carriers web sites for coverage maps. The problem that you had with AT&T could be transient. I remember it working where my phone did not. Since you just moved, why not ask others what service they have and how well it works.

That is a very good point. Nothing is worse then switching carriers then having the same problem.
