This phone looks pretty sweet. I was looking at the photos on the FCC website, and it looks like this phone is going to be REALLY small too. They have a picture of it against a ruler which from what i see makes it look like its less than 3 inches tall (excluding the antenna) I know it will be a while until we see it but it definately looks like a great phone.

It seems like it has all of the right features, yet it seems like it is missing something. Like it has no soul. Maybe I am just strange.

That particular model was approved by the FCC a few days ago. Release date?? I'd say summer 2004.

    twopiece,

i dont think itll take quite that long. fcc approval date cant necessairly be used as a guide for when release dates will be. the new nextel phone that was just approved will supposidly be out by the end of the year. on the other hand the kyocera 7135 took almost a year. but i do think that it will take at least 6 months or so knowing verizon..

Organic LED, the LG VX6000 uses one on the outside display, it gives a nice glow and has low batttery consumption.

The 2nd LED on the Sanyo 5300 is nice if you want to take a picture of yourself, the LG VX6000 does give you a little mirror you can use to line up your shot of yourself.

no, its small and text only..

its also quite different from a true organic electric light (OLE) display which is true full color etc..

Well, eyeing LG's recent success with the sale of Verizon's first and only camera phone, maybe Samsung will want to push the release of this phone to gain some ground on sales? I don't know, I'm just hoping...

Verizon will also want to push the release too because they don't want thier Get Pix service exclusive to just the LG.

I Wish Verizon would have gotten the a640, according to phonescoop it's a tentative release for sprint. It looks a lot better, a little different than most samsung's. Also, it's tri-mode which is nice. Take a look: Samsung SPH-A640

The a670 looks sweet. Imagine if it came with the X-life like the a530. Samsung seems to be on fire as a manufacturer, but then so does LG. I only wish Verizon would buy out Sprint so we could have the kind of selection they get. Would be nice to add their Samsungs plus their Sanyo's to our list of choices.

I think that the a670 may be the VX6000 killer. But so far all I see different is the flash. And my 6000 is one of the 2 best phones I have used (the other being my a530)

The OLED is also becoming the new standard trend. LG has two successors to the 4400 and I believe they both have OLED.

Samsung just needs to pump out the Verizon phones a little quicker. Seems like Sprint gets a new one every month or so.

The a670 looks like a Sprint phone. Surprised to see it coming for Verizon and not them. Sprint and GSM carriers always get the top notch Samsungs while we get the crap that looks like it was thrown together.

I still like the samsung a610 better then any of the current camera phones because you can rotate the camera and the screen.

Anybody have any idea how many pics this phone will be able to store? I hope it will be more than 20 like the vx6000.

Verizon has the LG vx6000 with OLED out there right now. My wife just purchased it, and I love the OLED. I would rather have OLED than an outer color screen, honestly.. Easier to see...and very slick looking.

The OLED display on the vx6000 sucks in sunlight though

Interesting... I hadn't noticed (probably because I've only seen the phone indoors). I'll have to watch for that.
