So... I used to send ringtones to my Verizon Wireless phone using Pix Place, and attaching an audio file. Verizon has re-done their web site, and now it says it won't accept the midi format. Has anyone figured out a way around this?

    Thanks...

Ever since upgrading their website, it no longer accepts MIDI files. I've contacted them (as well as someone else from another forum) and they've told us that they hope to rectify the problem by Feburary or March 2005.

In the meantime, try using www.funformobile.com The only drawback to it is that you can only send one tone at a time, but at least you can keep sending them! I've tried it.. it works!

I haven't tried the site for pix messages, only ringtones..I've been able to get iti without any problems...

The only thing I can think of is that your ringtone was over 30 secs? It must be 30 secs or less...

Just tried it for a LG 4500 phone, and it sent me to http://www.vzwpix.com/mlib/getpix/, whereupon I got the following error:

We're sorry, this page is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

    :(

Any other ways to send ringtones for free (or close to it)?

you need to register with the site to use the feature to send multiple files in one message . you can upload one at a time and then send them together. the nice thing about it is for pictures, they are resized to the right size to fit to your phone before sending them together to your phone regardless of the size and format of your pictures. i have been playing with both ringers and pictures and it worked very nicely.

I'd like to thank everyone who has posted to this thread: your information has proved useful and valuable. I was able to send a midi file from my computer to my Samsung a670 handset using the link (funformobile) provided by Jodi; however, though I can now set that midi as my ringtone, I can't decrease the volume (or, more properly, I can decrease the volume, but doing so has no effect on the ringtone) and it also plays the sound even when I've set the phone to silent mode. Vibration mode performs normally.

Does anyone have advice about this?

If you sent them to your PIX place then you just log in to your VZWpix.com and your pictures should all be there, then, from there, you should be able to send them to any email address or VZW phone number.
    Hope this helps,
    Andy

    Hi,
I was looking for a way to send ringtones for free to my phone and I stumbled onto this forum thread. I tried using the "www.funformobile.com method." Which worked as far as me being able to send the MP3 to pix place. I then sent it back to my phone so I could use it as a ringtone. But when the message was sent back to me, it showed up as NULL. Nothing plays or anything. Can anyone help? Am I doing something wrong? Please advise =)

Oh and thanks for any help in advance.
