Hey guys, Im new to the whole cell phone thing, and I recently bought a Verizon Local Plan at 35 a month, 350 anytime minutes, and unlimited nights and weekends. now i was wondering, if i call during their night and weekend times, will the minutes i use there be taken away from my anytime minutes, because I tend to use the phone a lot after 9(their night starting time), so if night minutes take away from anytime minutes, i will use all the anytime minutes quickly and from then on, any peak calls i will be billed extra. so whats verizons deal?
No, as long as you call after 9, the minutes will be used from your Unlimited bucket, not your anytime (peak) minutes.
Just remember you calls are billed according to the time the calls start...some new customer make the mistake of thinking that if they start a call at 8:55 pm and talk for 60 minutes then they will only be billed for 5 minutes...all 60 minutes will come out of your anytime minute allowance.
That is market, plan and billing system dependant. Calls in some markets that are part peak/part off-peak, are called "Spanned" calls, and the minutes are allotted to the proper time period. A call here that starts at 7:55pm and ends at 8:10pm, 5 minutes go to Peak, 10 to Off-Peak (w/8pm Off-Peak) -Bill
wish we had there here. wouldnt you think all would do that ? the other way technically IMO screwes people.
Eventually all markets will be that way... I think VZW is has a goal this year to get everyone on the same page... billing/plans/etc.
I work at verizon, how it works is if you are on a call at 8:55 and talk til 9:30 first it will use your 350min once it hits 9:01 will then go into your unlimited
