Verizon FREEUP question(s) :) again!

    Can I ask if I buy a phone on EBAY and set it up at a Verizon store, do I still need to pay the set up fee? Is it possible to SMS Off the Verizon Network as in SMS from Verizon to ATT phone? or only SMS to verizon phones only? Also, do you think activation via EBAY is better or going to see someone in person is better? I must be annoying by now hehe [​IMG]

    It is possible to SMS off Verizon network to other providers. I don't know specifically about VZW to ATT, but I have SMS from VZW to Nextel. It probably could be done.

    As the activation issue, why don't you call up the store, or RadioShack and tell them that you got a phone from a relative and would like to activate FreeUP. Then ask them if there is an activation fee. Make sure the phone you get is a Tri-Mode phone. Don't tell them you got it from Ebay. Twist the story a little bit. If it is a lot of money, then go to Ebay. I saw a couple of people activate FreeUp service on Ebay. The only problem is, the person on Ebay may not be able to give you a number w/your local area code.
