BroadbandAccess has been turned on in Chattanooga this AM. I have 1 to 2 bars of signal, but with NationalAccess I had 4 bars lit. Hopefully that will change as they are probably still testing. The map for the Chattanooga area already shows that EVDO has been activated.
Wirelessly posted (Q's Mobile Device: Opera/8.01 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/3.0.6306/1558; en; U; ssr)) Cool... They'll be doing a press release in a few minutes ... Lol It'll be neat if Atlanta and Chattanooga are connected together... Or yet, the I-75 corridor between Macon, Ga and Knoxville, TN.
UPDATE: Should a person ever end up with a worse signal situation after Verizon activates EVDO in an area to supplement NationalAccess (or vice versa!)? In a more rural area of Chattanooga (North GA, but still closer to the TN Courthouse than 75% of the TN residents) I did have a very satisfactory signal (3, 4, or sometime all bars green) on NationalAccess, but now I seem to have ended up with the "tower" icon green (sometimes it switches to red) with maybe 1 or at the most 2 of the bars green on EVDO. Of course NationalAccess was faster. Sometimes it will switch to what appears to be NationalAccess in it's own good time which is the speed I had before. I am really disappointed thus far with the performance on my PC 5740 Air Card that I have had for about 1 1/2 years. Does Verizon ever re-focus panels in cell phone towers to increase Broadband coverage along Interstates?
