I would like to know if Ontario, Canada is in fact included in Verizon's America's Choice Plan without having to pay extra. I've heard from a friend that Toronto and other parts of Ontario in specific are included in the coverage plan along with the Northeast, but I am not sure. Help would be appreciated.
Welcome to WA! First of all, Verizon's America's Choice Plans do NOT inlcude Canada for free, I'm sure you are referring to their North America's Choice Plans, which are posted on Verizon's website. Here's the North America's Choice Coverage map: NAC Coverage Map This map isn't too good in showing exact locations covered, but you can always call Customer Service and ask them. Hope this helps, Andy
Thank you, Andy. =) Ah, that map definitley helps. I called up Verizon because I noticed I have recently been charged for my calls to Ontario. It turns out that Ontario used to be included along with the Northeast until February, and anyone who was a customer before February was grandfathered in. Anyone who signed up afterwards was not privileged to have Canada included in their America's Choice Plan. However, I was a customer well before February, but I had went on vacation this summer and I cancelled my service for 1 month, and when I returned and re-activated my account, I had been automatically placed on the new America's Choice Plan (same plan, same minutes, it just didn't include Ontario in the coverage map). As a result, I just signed up for their North America Plan ($59.99 for 400 any time minutes, and 1,000 nights and weekend minutes).. Does anyone know a better service that will allow me to call Canada, or still includes Ontario as a part of the Northeast in their national coverage plan?
VZW used to include calling TO Canada, or calling FROM Canada?? I'm not so sure what you are referring to, but I know that a long time ago(probably what you're referring to) VZW used to include Calling TO Canada for free on AC Plans, but not calling FROM Canada.
I am not sure, but it might be $.69/minute...the same rate as in the U.S. Hopefully someone can confirm this.
Many people here in Logan who need to call to Canada add an option for $10 extra. That was before North Americas Choice plans so that could change, but I doubt it. It is $.69 in Canada plus long distance charges. Since we have free trade with Canada you should not be charged any international fees.
i think you also need to inquire about international calls. I know on my previous provider it was billed seperatly. a quick search of verizons website gave: http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/mobileoptions/internationalsvcs/index.jsp hope this helps.
