So far this is just mere rumor and speculation. Apple will tell when there's something to tell.

Here's another take: AppleInsider | Verizon, AT&T in 11th hour talks for CDMA, GSM Apple tablets - report

I was looking at tablet PC's last week when my laptop broke, and I was considering getting a new one. Toshiba has some really nice ones on the market. After so many years of having touch screen phones I often find myself tapping my laptop screen to activate menus and on screen buttons, only to remember that I can't do that. i'm sure my next laptop will have a touchscreen.

It makes sense for both of them to get it. They are the mayor players and the ones that can steal T-mo and Sprint clients.

NOT: Verizon and AT&T May Both Get Apple Tablet

Nope, it will only be Wifi, or ATT according to today's Apple presentation.

The 'iPad' will be available as Wifi only; Wifi + 3G (GSM) unlocked , or with an ATT data plan of $30 unlimited or $15 for 250Mb a month.

Sorry Verizon, Sprint. Tmobile is okay, since the iPad is unlocked. But maybe not 3G Tmobile.

My guess this means not iPhone CDMA too. Seems like Apple wants to always make a worldwide phone

I'm glad I used the post icon tag "Rumor" for this thread because this is exactly why. Verizon getting the iPhone and iPad was just that, nothing more than a rumor...

John Gruber/Daring Fireball called it, but I'd also like to point out that there were NO iPhone announcements. The event was all about iPad. If we're going to hear anything about a CDMA iPhone, iPhone 4 (or 3G SE), we'll probably hear about it in March along with iPhone OS 4.0 info.

BTW, I'm guessing the iPhone 4 will also have the Apple A4 chip for a nice little "4" theme. Maybe Apple will get cutesy and even wait until April to announce.
