My 2 year contract will only be half over if the switch is completed in November this year. So, being an Alltel customer, will i be able to upgrade to a new phone that Verizon has:confused:

It's really too early to tell. Assuming that the merger does go through and your market doesn't get divested to another carrier, you may eventually be able to "upgrade" if you choose to do so, but until the merger is actually approved, you probably won't get any details from VZW until sometime after the deal closes.

I imagine that VZW would only allow a discounted upgrade if the customer is eligible for an upgrade and would more than likely require migrating to a VZW plan. I would be surprised if they did otherwise. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.
