My family is interested in buying a Verifone Vx 610 wireless credit card processing machine for our business so we can process credit cards on the go. According to the website, it lists Sprint Nextel as a compatible provider.

My question is does anyone know where I can find what compatible phones will work with this? Is it only Nextel phones? If so, would any Nextel phone work?

    Here is the link:

If anyone has any personal experience please let me know your feedback.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't use this, or anything like it.

Following the links to the version that works on CDMA or GPRS (not Wi-Fi or Ethernet), I found the Vx610 is the card processing device. The "VeriFone CONNECT for DeliveryPAY" PDF is the one I looked at the hardest, and is listed as using Verizon or Cingular.

    Good luck on the hunt.

Thanks for your help COtech. We will be calling them shortly to see what they say. Hopefully it will work on Sprint since we are seriously considering switching to them from Verizon.

Well we called and the unit is fully wireless. You don't need to tether your phone to the device. A modem is built-in, and uses Sprint's towers to process credit cards. The device is SSL encrypted and the plan is $19.99/month through most merchants for using Sprint's towers plus the lease fee for the device.
