While under a contract with verizon 3 months ago I downloaded 7 songs on to a memory card using an Lg 8300 phone. I saved the card with the songs on it when I left them. Yesterday I signed up with EastPay to try their service out in my area again and purchased another Lg 8300. Using the same card in the new phone I can view all 7 songs that are on it but when I hit play It comes up with a player error "License acquisition failed". If I paid for the songs already, why is it coming up an an error when I try to play them off the card?
I guess you didn't realize that you didn't really own the songs. You just bought a license to use them under certain circumstances. The circumstances changed and now, you're out of luck. It stinks. It's legal. Thank the political party that everyone loves.
You are partially correct. Yes there are circumstances to using the music that I downloaded, but I am definitely NOT out of luck. As I thought from the beginning but no regular Verizon Rep. could confirm is that when I went from post paid to prepaid the license agreement that I originally had was canceled. Because prepaid customers don't have the option to get VCast music at this time my phone is unable to download the license that it needs in order to play the songs. If I move back to a contract then I will once again be able to play the songs that are on the card. When I spoke to Verizons tech support this afternoon they were confirm it for me. He also said that I could place the memory card into my computer and download the songs to a CD.
Thanks. I agree since I paid at least $15 for them that would really make me angry if I could no loner play the songs.
