I Talked to 2 Alltel reps. today and was told by one that the RAZR 2 would be out by the end of the month and the other said end of aug. beginning of Sept. Anyone else heard anything Loving Alltel Since 98
The Moto V9m is coming to Alltel, scheduled release is sometime in Sept from my sources. The Alltel version will be almost a dead ringer of the Verizon version. The only thing different will be that Alltel will not block some of the phones bluetooth and file functions. Verizon is known for doing this but they have not said if they have blocked anything yet or not... you can see the one Alltel is getting if you go to Moto's sight... they are getting the grey one... think the same as Sprint. I think its interesting that for now only carriers with either 3G or EVDO service will be offering this phone hehe.... sorry TMO... better luck next time USCC...
Received this PR bulletin in my e-mail Friday (8/10/07) afternoon. Too bad not all carriers are going to have it by the 24th. Seems like everyone is jumping on that phone. Hopefully it will live up to what everyone expects and be a good phone.
Any more recent word on this Razr. We had been holding out but today in the record heat, da wifey decided her phone was thirsty so dunked it in her cup of water. So she is in need now. has tried to blow dry it out after removing battery but so far its still dead. I guess we'll get her the Hue then if the Razr does make it out soon, I can take it as my backup to the iPhone and she can have the Razr. We've both been on the same Nokia bars 93565 I think it is) for 3 + years.
Well, crisis averted temporarily. Our store didn't even have a Hue in da house. So we reactivated an old Moto v60 I had for da wifey to use for awhile. Won't be 24 hrs probably cause the antenna is broken off and it doesn't half work, which she doesn't know yet!!!!
just got off phone with lady at the national 800 center and at least she did not play dumb like the guys in the store do and say we haven't been told anything about new Razr phone. She checked with a supervisor and said "next month" -- wouldn't pin it down any more than that. I did some interesting reading on these phones this morning. Evidentally Moto released the hardware shell to the 4 companies and each customized them in different ways with their own software and features. ATT's got the best reviews for sound quality. Alltels got major props for being able to view texts on the outside screen. Alltel's got knocked for the email functions. Sorry if this is all new to you experts!!! With Alltel email on the Hue and this new Razr I take it you have to go to your server's webmail site to read mail????
Yeah I heard later after my post that they might could the Razr 2 but due to their network its going to be a very scaled down version of it. Their network cannot support several of the key upgrades that the Razr 2 supports. Not to mention pricing they will most likely be so $$$ it will be stupid.
Sweet it is true 499 dollars retail 399 with a 100 mail in rebate SO HAPPY I REALLY NEED A NEW PHONE Lovin Alltel Since 98
Man that's kind of $$$, specially the full retail price. You could buy a Smartphone or a Moto Q for that kinda cash.
I have many sources. Things like handset release dates are always subject to change but yes, it's as official as things like this get. LOL! Not quite, my friend, not quite.:lmao:
Yes on the high side. but a smartphone it not really for me. and the Q I was waiting for it when i was coming out but when I got to use it I really did not like it. Lovin Alltel Since 98
Wirelessly posted (MOT-V9mm/00.62 UP.Browser/6.2.3.4.c.1.123 (GUI) MMP/2.0) The razr2 does a lot of things that smart phones do in a more practical, if flashier, package. Still, $400 for a phone is really high.
Its official... It will be released thursday the 13th. As with the past... I would recommend waiting on buying this to allow for any software issues to be worked out. I will be getting this phone but I am waiting until Dec to allow plenty of software upgrades.
I learned this the hard way with the v3c. Also waiting for the price to fall a little is recommend too. That was another thing I learned. They sometimes ran better prices around the holidays.
Agreed with both of you. If the Alltel KRZR K1m tought us anything it's that people should wait at least three months before purchasing a new model of phone. I think that's about how long it took for the KRZR to get "fixed," though Alltel did just release a new firmware version for the KRZR, ALT_k1M_01.13.00R_UPGRADE_02, which allows for Celltop and location-based (GPS) services like Axcess Mobile Guide and TeleNav. Frankly, I don't like Celltop and I don't want it so I won't be getting that upgrade... heck, I'm still running the original Alltel firmware release for the KRZR with no problems. Go figure.
Price update Was told yesterday that the phone is $350 with a $100 mail in rebate Loving Alltel Since 98
