Uh, yeah. Don't ask me why I didn't post the link along with my comment. I'm a dumba@# sometimes. Or maybe I was still drunk from happy hour. Sorry. Anyway, kudos to Tony for covering for me.

Check out the "offer details" for the wireless accessory giveaway. The offer expires July 10th. Which means the phone will be released earlier than that.

    Beware of naked people!

Bono - good point. Also - 1.2 megapixel camera. Didn't see that coming. Looks like Moto may beat LG to the megapixel punch.

This is most likely going to be be my next phone. I registered and I an eligable for my new every two starting the begining of april so I might have a chance at being one of the first 710. I really like how it have mp3 ringtones. If has the main features I want.

What do you guy guess this is going to be priced at? I have a feeling it's going to be costly with all the features.

What do you think the chances are of being one of the first 710 people?

As for when it comes out I would bet it's at leat 2 weeks before the expiration of the offer. I'm excited!

The V710 has been on schedule for months. It has hit all the major testing milestones on time. It is more than on pace to be released by July. CTIA starts tomorrow, which was the timeframe I've been saying for months was when the phone would be announced. I think this one will actually be delivered on time.

They have three months....I don't think Verizion could successfully organize a company picnic in three months, must less launch this phone.

But I will humbly stand corrected if I am wrong. [IMG]

I just stopped in to my friendly VZW store today. The salesperson there told me that Moto reps had already been in to show the demo models to them. He said the only holdup at this point is VZW agreeing/deciding on market promo pricing. He said they are hoping to see something by the end of April... though I'm not holding my breath.

I would never trust a sales rep because they are there to sell you something, and are usually the lowest on the food chain of actual information. Right below the sales rep is the cellular salesman.

There is zero chance this phone will be out by April. None. Nada. When the actual phone ships is of course dependant on several factors, many of which are outside both Verizon and Motorola's hands. That said, all signs point to a June release with a high degree of confidence.

The release of the phone is not being held up by marketing. It has 2 rounds of testing to go through still, it needs to be produced and shipped in volume, and a few thousand other details.

Well, I flashed my T-720 to a T-730 today. Gonna wait until the 710 makes it's arrival before I replace this mess of a phone.

Has anyone heard any rumblings from the test market on this new series? I jumped on the T-720 right as it hit the market and learned, from sad experience, that newest isn't always best. I'm nervous that the same thing will happen with the 710... I'll probably be one of the first in line to buy it when it comes out, but I'm still scared it'll be another T-720 fiasco. I'm still a Moto person, but they've really made me skittish. [IMG]

Just wondering if anyone has heard any news from the testers on the quality of this new unit...

V710 by April?? Wasn't the first Moto released this year supposed to be the V810? That phone had a target date for April 30th but I feel that it will hit stores in June much to the chagrin of a friend of mine who's been out of contract for 3 weeks.

I'm thinking the fall for the V710.

The V710 by April was posted by someone with a post count of 3 and their source is highly suspect. The V810 will be out first. The V710 by June. I'd imagine we'd hear a lot this month because Moto reports Q1 numbers soon and people will be very curious how they are fixing their supply/delivery issues.

I'm that post-er... and I even stated in my original post that I wasn't holding my breath. I was just passing along what the VZW sales guy told me. He's just passing along the info given by his moto sales rep. As was already stated.... they are sales guys just trying to sell. I would agree with the others here to not expect a 710 before summer at the earliest.

Hi all...I am a frequent reader here...but I feel that unless I have something to say, I try not to talk just to hear myself talk!
Like most of you I have been waiting "patiently" for the 710 to show up!
my fear is that all of this HYPE that we are giving it is going to be a HUGE let down, and that we are all deluding ourselves.....you know....there was a time in life when we had NO wireless, and I keep reminding myself, that somehow we all still found the will to go on living!
I just want to put this in proper perspective, and say, that I am all on your side in HOPING that this phone has all that it claims.....AND WORKS too!! (this coming from a T720 owner who was FORCED, kicking and screaming to relinquish the Startac to the Verizon gods to get my crappy T720 for only $49!).
All my ranting over....thanks for those of you that provide relevent educating input here on a regular basis...it does get put to good use....I'm going to stop now, but I was kinda hoping that If I typed long enough, I could distract myself until the 710 comes out......DAMN!!!!

It was only announced at the end of last month, so your wait hasn't been too long.

Well I think the specs are a bit hard to change now. Whatever Moto says the phone will do, it will do. This isn't like in the past when Verizon's network wasn't able to support a feature and it had to be disabled in the phone. The V710 starts phase 4 testing next week at Verizon, that is the last round of testing. That involves full scale user trials. This phone will be here well before the Q2 deadline so many people doubt.

Now what people are wondering about is getting files on and off the phone for free. It has a memory card, so it seems to reason you can use that to transfer files. Using Bluetooth for data is a question mark. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera (check out the specs, they claim 1.2 but it is what every else calls 1.3) which will create a picture significantly larger than previous VGA cameras. To compress and send the picture through Verizon is gonna take like 30 seconds!

According to Phonescoop, the Bluetooth in the v710 doesn't support every profile - including object (file/picture/ringtone) exchange. This is logical, I suppose, since VZW makes money when you want to send those sorts of items to your phone. But seeing as how the v710 will support MP3 ringers, and seeing as how VZW (to my knowledge) doesn't have a GIN application for downloading those yet, I'm guessing you'll have to bring them over on the card. But then, I'm just totally guessing here.
