Don't forget the other division for the iDEN phones. But those don't matter to me . Maybe sometime in the far future when Bush sent people to Mars to speak with the Martian cellular experts, Motorola might be able to release a phone for Verizon to "test" for 34 months.
You guys are so pre-occupied with complaining about there being no new CDMA phones from Motorola, nobody seemed to notice when it was posted that there is a new CDMA phone coming. Forget it. I'm gonna sit on this one. You wouldn't know what to do with your self if a better than V600 phone was heading Verizon's way. Go back to complaining.
I personally don't care about Motorola making a good Verizon phone. I personally don't like Verizon. I jsut think it's funny how Motorola is avoiding them... kinda. But I'm getting GSM anyways so it's all good .
No, I would be happy. I WAS quite happy with the V60i, for about the first year I had it. It held up when compared to the offerings by other wireless providers.....now, it does not nor Verizon's other phones hold up when compared. Actually, like Verizon's Nokia 3589i, that phone is a joke. The only way things will change is if Verizon is hit where it hurts, revenue....if they loose sales to providers with newer nicer phones, then they may actually get on the ball.
I know of what you speak, Bono, and I am excited. To be fair though, there are a LOT of phones that have been on phonescoop since last summer that still have not seen the light of day on my chosen provider, VZW. So although I will be among the first to get this phone which I heard was slated around "mayish", I will not hold my breath. And I know complaining can be irritating...but you gotta admit, CDMA DOES get shafted when it comes to moto in general. The evidence is there that Moto can make a killer phone, so why do the CDMA ones stink so bad? We just need a few hot phones to wash the year-old taste of T720 out of our mouths. I had that phone for 3 weeks over a year ago and I still b!tch about it! I look forward to the return to powert of Motorola. I just hope the menus get to be as easy as LG's
Hey Delta, I hope your predictions about Motorola go better than your PTT hopes Just playing. CWick, I'm confused as to why you think "the 3589i is a joke?" I mean, it does what it is supposed to do. It has great RF, which is what most CDMA users are concerned about, and is cheap. If you're comparing just features of the phone, then yeah, I'd rather have a 3650. But if you look at the big picture, including how the phone works, then I'd say it is not too much of a joke.
PTT was the biggest single dissapointment of my life. SUCKSSUCKSSUCKS!!! ARGH!! Craptain, why don't you come hang at City Center today?? I'm bored. If I sell one thing today I'll be shocked. I'll hook you up with some spare V60 antennas or something....
<Grumbles> Is the image link thingie on here broke?? Everytime I try to do it it doesn't work anymore!
I had purchased the 3589i not long after it came out, I had heard so much about it's great RF performance I wanted to give it a try because my home is in a very bad coverage area...usually 1-2 bars with a V60i and Sam A310. The 3589i went back to the store the next day, it was not able to do nearly as well with our low signal area as the V60i and A310. It was dropping calls where the other two phones were at least able to hold a signal. So bad RF performance, along with the real shotty construction. I compared the 3589i to an old Nokia GSM phone we had lying around the house...I don't remember the model but it was free with an old Voicestream/Tmobile activation several years ago. Even though the GSM phone was several years old, it terms of construction it was a much high quality phone then the 3589i. So I think this phone is a joke when compared to even the cheapest of GSM phones....the 3589i should be at best free with activation...or really, you end up making 100 bucks after rebates and what not.
CWick, I can't argue with that experience. I suppose as long as people buy them, VZW will keep selling them. I agree with the feel of the "build quality," but I think it is due to the housing being changable... I suppose it is possible that you got a bum phone? I've heard very few bad things about the RF... Maybe GSM is the way to go if the phone is more important to you? Oh well.
Bum phone? I doubt it...it worked, just not as well as I had hoped. So with that, along with the poor quality construction....it went back. Oh, no doubt that GSM is the way to go if the phone is more important....if I didn't travel as much as I did I would have left Verzion a long time ago....actually, would have never joined them. So...I stick with the better network, for now, and gripe about the phones. BUT...as the GSM networks grow, I think Verizon's days will be numbered...or at least...they will have to change some of their ways.
