Hey, does anyone know when the v60 will be available it says that cingular has theres but when i check the site its not there there. i think it might be only available in certain areas. I waiting for when this phone will be available on attws. If you have any rumored dates or release dates i would greatly appreciate it. My contract ends this month looking forward to a new color phone. thanks, Nuuuuuts
Not sure about Cingular but AT&T is getting theres real soon, recieved my collateral and dummy phone today....usually means the product will arrive within a couple weeks
Actually the v60t color used to be on Cingular's site, but they took it off (probably because it's TDMA?).
I still can't understand why Cingular would release this phone. They seem to be in a big hurry to get everyone to change over to GSM, so why would they offer a TDMA phone that everyone wants? Personally I think the V60 is getting a bit dated - the novelty has worn off for me. Granted, it's still one of Motorola's best phones right now, but that's only because Motorola doesn't seem to like releasing new phones anymore.
thanks for all the quick reply's im really hoping that the phone comes out quickly and no bugs hopefully. thanks again nuuuuts
I don't know that I would call the v60 platform dated. I think it is one of those classic phones, like the StarTAC that people are going to want for years to come. It is a very durable and versitile. I think I'll always like the v60, even in 50 years. By then, though phones will weigh 0.5 oz. and have all manner of weird things we haven't even thought of and I probably won't be able to use a v60 anyway. Bummer.
In 50 years, your phone will be implanted in one of your teeth. I have seen the future. Dentists are going to make a killing.
For some reason Sprint is going to get the v60x (with color LCD?). Apparently it will be available in early 2004, but only through their telematics division. Not for purchase by any "normal" people. To be honest, I don't see the point of releasing a model they have never carried 2 years since Motorola launched the product line.
The v60x already exists as a B/W phone. The Sprint color model name is v60v. That isn't the only new color v60 possibly heading our way!
The "t" is for TDMA, and no, it is not CDMA. Unless something has changed in the last few days, Verizon has no plans to launch a color v60. (They did, but those plans got scrapped along time ago.)
Last I heard the color v60 was to be out this month, it does not look like that is going to happen, however.
Sorry, between my dealine for the Neuroscience meeting in New Orleans, my toxicology class, and my kali training, I don't have a lot of time these days to hang out here. Besides, the forums have been a snoozer lately. C'mon, we all need to lobby for Airtext!
Yello: instead of AirText, send it with a voice/color animation to all Sprint, Verizon, Cingular, and AT&T color phones..well, all that will support the voice and animation.
interestingly enough, my PCS rep knows nothing about the color v60, didnt even know that Moto would make a come back into the SPCS rooster, if it looks like the v66 GSM then maybe i'd root for moto again.
And now with the Mods editing out my comments, I'm going to say "adieu" Man, this forum has gotten dull. No new info, no interesting questions, and now we can't even shoot off our mouths.
Probably because the Sprint v60 is not slated to be sold through normal channels, so the information might not have been deemed relevant for retail reps. Just a guess....
the Samsung forum and the News forum are always happening. this forum... has just lost its vibe, it will pick up again I promise, I hear Tadlock is going to stop posting pretty soon
beats me I would think SPCS would want Radiohack to have this phone for these reasons. Radioshack sells an average of 10 sprint phones per store per day, there are 5300 radioHack stores NATIONWIDE. SPCS and VZW LOVE RS
The information I read about the phone said that Sprint's own retail stores won't even sell the phone...I think it will be reserved for the telematics division.
Well i played with the V60 Color today, the main differences are a new keypad layout, 4way navigational keypad,Nice indigo Blue Backlight(so much better from that o.d. Green hard to see one) More ring tones(Non polyphonic) Much improved Alarm,Number Voice dialing, less Talk time 170 min-250(high performance Lith) 200hrs-260hrs standby,Color screen about 4K colors( not very good), change wallpapers, new menu layout taken from Moto C333,Screen seems to be smaller than that of other V60's, power button removed and is now used by pressing and holding the end key, External dispay is better displays Battery level and signal strength.....phone prices out at 199.99 with new service/upgrade discount or 250.00 no contract ext...AT&T Wireless.......This is really not a phone for the technical junkies but if you still need TDMA service and arent ready to take the big big plundge to gsm then id say go for it...Hope this phone doesnt prove to have mass bugs like its predisessors...any way im bored at work thought id give a brief descipt.....
