Is there a way to change how the v551 plays ringtones? I have downloaded some but they start replaying sooner than I would like and was wondering if there is a way to choose when the ring ends/loops the ringtone.. Thanks in advance!

you can edit your ringtones with Mobile Phone Tools, it has an option to select when the ringtones starts and ends as well as being able to fade in and out.

I have a V551 and the ringtones I've downloaded play fine. Actually my calls dump to voicemail before the song is done (You can't play longer than that).

yes that's why you fade out the ringtone when you get to 30 seconds when using Mobile Phone Tools.

I dowet  that it has, but does it have a mini sd card, the memory on the phone is only like 4 megs and it needs to have software on the phone so it only has like 2 megs left. if u get amini sd card then you could put the song on the card then put it in the phone.

... you could always copy the songs from your computer to the card! have a 3 minute mp3 on the phone :cycle: :cycle:

The v551 does not use a mini sd card.

How do I get the Mobile Phone Tools? I downloaded a ringtone from Cingular but it only plays one line of the song over and over instead of 2 lines like it was 'previewed' as.. I have this song in MP3 format on my computer.. can I splice it to make a ringtone on this software?

You guys are being so helpful! Thanks!

never! and I mean NEVER buy ringtones from the internet or a service provider. Buy mpt and the cable or bluetooth dongle and then you can make your own ringtones. Your choice, not some one elses. And they are free!!! If you want me to send you the link to the site that I have some of my ringtones and requested ringtones let me know. They are free mp3 and some midi ringtones. Let me know, I'll be more than willing to help you in any way.

btw you should be able to get around 18-20 ringtones per 2mbs and still have the quality good.
