I have a Motorola V525 with a Bluetooth headset. My question is: Is there a shortcut to connect to Bluetooth? (without going via settings>connection>Bluetooth link>hands-free etc.) Thanks

The menus sound identical to my V710, and on that phone, once the headset has been paired, you can simply turn it on to connect to the phone (and off to disconnect). Presumably the software's enough alike that it would also be supported on your phone. This works, at least with the HS820, provided that you're only using the headset with one device. If you have multiple devices paired with the headset, then it connects to only one of them (the most recently used, I think, but I don't have personal experience of that).

I believe that this is a headset feature, so it's going to depend on the headset you have if it supports such use. Consult the manual for your headset (in the HS820 manual the above connection behavior is described in the pairing section).

It's possible to set the left soft key to Bluetooth, I can't tell you exactly where I changed it since I haven't used my V525 for a couple weeks but it's somewhere under the Settings Menu and then in a sub menu where you can select the Option Left Soft Key. Bluetooth is one of the listed options if I recall correctly.
