Can someone tell me the differance between these 3 models? I checked Motorola's web site & couldn't find info. on the V500 & 525. Thanks.
If you looked on Motorola's US Hellomoto website, the reason you can't find the v500 and v525 is because they aren't phones available in the US. But the V551 will be out later this year.
Hmm...they look pretty similiar to me...Do any carriers offer both of these handsets on their networks?
Cingular offers the V400 and the V600. The V500 and the V525 are available only overseas if you go retail......however they can be purchased on the internet and used here in the states.
I have been looking at the V525 on Ebay, has anyone bought or used one, or know of anyone that has it, and how is it compared to the 400 or 600? I would like to know more before bidding on one. Thanks in advance.
Fire14, I've had the V525 for nearly 7 months and it works great. It cost about $400 back in January (199 pounds). Pros: -Quadband -Camera is quite good -5 MB internal memory for apps and photos -RF is very good (only used in the UK and Germany so far) -Pairing a Bluetooth headset or a PC to transfer files/photos taken with camera is simple, no problems using Bluetooth with the Plantronics M3000 headset -Battery charge is ok, lasts me about 2 or 3 days when used extensively, might vary though since I keep it in standby most of the time -Display is crisp and clear -Menus a lot easier to navigate than on older Motorolas -Loudspeaker is fine, a bit scratchy if volume is up too loud Cons: -Earpiece volume could louder, have to keep volume up at 6 or 7 when making calls out in the street, best way to remedy this would be to use wired headset/earphones or a Bluetooth headset I can't really think of anything else at the moment, hope this helps.
Thank you shoresguy for the information on this phone. I guess the going price of 225.00 isn't such a bad price, and from what your saying it seems to be comparable to the V400 or a little bit better. I have been playing around with buying the 400, 525 & 600. And i had my concerns about the 525 since no one i know has it, but now i feel more comfortable about bidding.
Yup, definitely no complaints from my side, Fire. Make sure it will cover your needs in terms of reception. I can't say how it does in the US since I haven't used it back home yet and the European GSM networks have very seamless coverage so the phone always does its duty for me here. One tip: See if you can find a case for it to protect the interior display from scratches. A lot of people over at Howard's Forums have some issues with scratches on their V600 displays. Good Luck
