Which phone? And which provider? And for 2gb, you should have the ability to put more files on there unless you have movies taking up the space.

And if you don't have it completely filled up, that's when you'll most likley run into problems (at least if you have a Razr or other phone that's not compatilbe with 2gb cards).

I have the Razr V3m by Verizon. My first phone only had 6 pins instead of the 8.. I exchanged for a new one.
The size is correct for the amount of songs. I have 4mb of space left on the card.

The AVERAGE song is about 4 mb...so with that math, at 2gb you should EASILY have close to 500 songs if you are maxed out...400 at WORST case. When u say u have about 225 files...if each song is 4mb or slightly less, you will only be at 1gb. I think you need to check something. The common problem is PEOPLE CAN put 2gb on the card...the phone will SEE 2gb, but CANNOT READ all 2gb, it can only read UP TO 1gb.

I just dont want anyone who reads this thread to think the Verizon v3m uses a 2gb card. It cannot. I have tried on about 6 phones. Online it says that it uses a 1gb card. The chocloate phone for a while was one of the few that could use a 2gb card. Verizon hasnt changed the razr to allow it.

How were you able to return it? I took it to the VZW store here and they told me it was the card. I only have 6 pins as well. I called tech support and they too told me it was the card.

Try taking the camera in and showing that it works in there and not in the phone maybe? Or open up the back of the display razr and point out that it has eight pins. Or find a new Verizon store, hah.

Did you ever check that actual capacity of the stored items on your 2 GB card? Cincyball had calculcated that the number of files to be more like 1 GB. I am awaiting your reply before I buy my card.

Someone in another thread said they got a 2gb and were able to get a firmware upgrade that allowed their phone to use it... so maybe you don't even need to know how much the phone can recognize... you can get it all!
