Yea, the Verizon definitely doesnt. I had to return my 2gb card when i first purchased it. It wil SEEEEE 2gb of space, but it will not ACCESS 2 gb. I put 1gb +/- of music on and all was fine. It showed still another gig of free space. I added music, but could never FIND it on the phone. SO the phone will show the amount of free space, but it doesnt have the ability to actually access it. The ONLY verizon phone that I knwo of that CAN is the Chocolate. I will look for documentation for ya.

As for why it isnt working, it is beyond me. It could be as simple as a defect in the phone...

I can't open the music on the phone now. So how do I get it opened and get those songs off? Do I need to reset the phone? I did the update on the phone also. Them mpt is not the newest version when I updated to the new version it changes from motorola usb modem to motorola communication interface and my computer can't find the drivers for that. I can't use wmp10 my pc syas it won't work and wmp11 won't sync. It is really getting annoying. I'm not real good at this stuff but I do ok but this phone stuff is driving me crazy. I went and did a search for the motorola communication interface drivers i guess but I just can't figure this out. Oh and btw the phone is on the sprint network.

Yea, NOW we learn u are on Sprint, haha. Allllll of what I told you was based on Verizon. All I know about Sprint is how to get it connected to the comp, and how to use MPT with it. I dont know how to add music or delete music... just ringtones and pictures.

Yea, Moto techs dont know much. What is funny is the 2gb works with the SPRINT v3m, so ive been told. So TECHNICALLY they arent lying, but I have found people i nthese types of forums truely know more than most of the techs...

How much are u willing to part with the 2gb card for? hehe, my digi uses SD memory cards, so i just pop the 1gb cards into the SD adapters, and Im good to go.

Sorry about that. the MPT is working with it. I loaded the MPT off a disc and it is version 3.2 something like that and is working. I tried updating it to the newest version and updated the phone and it comes up with new hardware found and it's the moto communication interface and it says it can't install the drivers, so I went back to the old version of the MPT but I can't take the phone back.
As for the music it worked good for a few days and now I can't open it on my phone and I can't delete anything I put on it.
It is my sons phone and I have been doing what I can to figure it out. He is like his dad he doesn't have patience. I do but with this phone they are running kind of thin.
Do you know any where I can get help? I really don't want to call cs because I hate talking to them, it seems like everytime I talk to them my account gets screwed up so I don't call them anymore than I have too.

To get the the Motorola COmmunicatio nInterface stuff ntsalled, you need to install MSU (Motorola Software Updater). CHeck out this post -> http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/439994-post16.html

So if u run MSU and connect your phone, it should install those new drivers. Then if u update MPT to versioon 4.36 (must install one version as a time), then create a new profile, it will find your phone automatically.

As for your music, how did u originally add it? From what I have heard, you have to access to the Sprint Music store in order to listen to music? My guess is u need to be in an area with service to do so? Again, I dont have that phone to verify what I read.

I added it using the MPT. When I got the phone set up i opened the multimedia studio and then to the melody studio or to the mobile internet. There it showed the music I have in my computer on one side and on the other side it shows the music on the phone. Then you just pick the song you want to put on the phone from the pc side and you click and drag it to the phone side and hit transfer and it put it on the phone.
I can't figure out how to delete the songs, and I can't open the music on the phone now. Like I said it worked for a few days but now it don't.

So is MPT working? Or can u not get it to work? If it does work, can u see the songs on the phone side?

It is working. I can see the list of songs on the phone side on the computer.
The problem is I can't open the music with the card in it. When I take the card out it says unable to read the memory card and make sure it is properly inserted to the phone. So I take it out and put it back in and it stays on the loading screen for a long time it flashes but stays on the loading screen for a long time again the it goes off and I'm back to my regular screen. I can't get to the music.

Do u get an error message in MPT when u select the song u want to delete and try to delete it? If it is just music on there that u dont want on there anymore, cant u just re-format the card in the phone???

I says the communication link has been broken by the phone. How do you re-format the card in the phone?

The same way that you should have formatted it when you first put it in the phone. If u didnt format it in the phone the first time, that could be where your troubles are. Somewhere in Main Menu->Settings->Phone Info.... I dont know how Sprint is setup, but you should be able to find Storage Devices somewhere. When it shows the TF Card, u should have the option to format. The fact that MPT says connection broken by phone makes me think your MPT isnt at version 4.36, ORRR, your phone software isnt fully updated either.

No the MPT isn't 4.36, it is 3.22,the phone is up to date I just did the update on it yesterday or the day before. The MPT is working though. I did do the updates on the MPT, that's when it all went down hill and went back to the old version. The update is where the moto communication interface came in and couldn't get anywhere on that. I went through all the downloading and got the MPT updated but when I went to set up the phone for it, it wouldn't show the moto usb modem or the moto communication interface. All it had was other devices or the modem for my pc. I found the drivers and installed them and it still didn't work so I unstalled everything and went back to the first version i had. I used the MSU after I updated the phone and it said it was already up to date.
I didn't format the card cuz the card was already in the phone when we got it, so I thought it was already formatted..

The best thing to do is, remove everything. Then install MPT, and update to 4.36. Install MSU and let THAT update. Once both programs are up to date, and now that ur phone is as well, OPEN MSU. When it says connect phone, do so. This will install the phone as a v3c/l7/etc and install the Motorola Communicatioon Interface, AND moto usb modem. THEN close MSU and disconnect phone. Open MPT and create a new profile, and it WILL automatically detect your phone. HOPEFULLY THEN u will be able to get done what u want if u have no success formatting the card with the phone to erase everything off your card. That is the process I used to successfully connect a guy I work with's razr to his comp. The combo of the updated MPT and updated MSU will contain the correct drivers for your programs to recognize the razr properly. Just dont connect the phone UNTIL all progs are installed.

I'm having a problem with my v3mM (seem edit) MicroSD card. The card works fine for sync and playing music up to a certain percent of memory (about 50%), then stops the phone from opening "Manage Music" or "Sync Music". Yes, i did format the card both on the phone and with my computer (fat32), and yes, the card CAN hold more than that when it's read by my computer. I have a 1GB Kingston MicroSD card. Something odd is afoot...

    Wahhooooo !!!!
    persistence pays off!!!

I noticed that the microSD card slot in the phone only showed 6 pins vs the 8.
I went to VZW store here at Union Station and they replaced my phone with a brand new one.
    Side note*
I asked the VZW tech if he could save all my stuff and he could only save my contact information and that I would lose all my pics, vids, etc. Well I don't know why but he was "able" to pull all my stuff from my phone and transfer it.

So back to the card... I put it in the phone and it immediately recognized it and was able to format. It also recognized the full 2GB!!! I'm currently syncing music to it via Windows Media Player or Vcast ..

I'll post more after I fill up the card with m:music: :highclap:

Glad you have yor phone working properly now.

As for the card/phone, as I said earlier, it WILLLLLLL RECOGNIZE 2gb of space, but you CANNOT ACCESS all 2gb of data. The phone just cant do it. Anything beyond 1gb, the files will still be added, but you will not be able to access them from the phone. I understand you already have the card, so Im not telling you to return it, just letting you know you will not have full 2gb of music. The LGvx8500 chocolate phone is the only verizon music phone that accepts 2gb properly. I am just typing this so that others do not get the wrong idea and buy a 2gb card.

Anyone who needs that much memory or more, should just buy a couple of 1gb Kingston cards @ $12.95 each. So $26 shipped you can have (2) 1gb cards in your possession. Get them here -> http://www.cdrdvdrmedia.com/kingston-1gb-micro-sd-card.html

Have you tried putting stuff on it? I've actually heard it should auto format... I'd try putting stuff on it and see if the phone argues.

Once u have made sure the card is FULLY pushed in (if u think it is, push harder), and it still wont format, you either have a problem with your card or your phone. Chances are if it is the phone, when u pull the card out, take a look in there and see if any of the pins look bent, or worse, missing. A lot of razr's lately have been having these problems.
