    Hello, hi..

Ive recently got the Motorola V3 phone.. And I cant seem to work out how to tranfer pics from my phone to my computer.

I have the usb cable and the mobile phone tools software.. Yet the imaging part of the software only seems to let me put pics ONTO my phone not take them off..?

Am I being really dim and missing something?? :(

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

I'm generally the Motorola expert here, but I've never been able to get MPT to work. I use other software. I've put a request to one of the Mods to move this to the Motorola forum so maybe someone else can help.

Do you have text/internet on your phone? All I do is text/email pics to myself from my phone to my computer.

That's probably the easiest way if you can't get your software working properly.

Yes, thats what I used to do on my old phone...

But, as I have lots of pictures, sending messages to my email account can become costly.

And as I already have the cable..

Its not a case of the software not working, its that theres no option to do what I want. Ive used the software to save my contacts and put music onto my phone via my PC.

Is there any other software out there..?

The drivers can be tricky if you're using Windows XP, but I use P2K Commander. It is available as a free download to members of www.motomodders.net

    Good luck!

Alice, when you open Mobile Phone Tools look at the right of your screen, it will say MOBILE PHONE from there you will see different folders, choose the one that says MY PICTURES from there right click on the image/file you want to transfer to your PC, that will give you the option to transfer your pictures to your PC.

An "unlocked" phone is generally set up generically to be able to make calls with a SIM card with any carrier. You have to configure the phone for data services to work with your carrier as each carrier's settings are different. If you called Cingular they'd probably help you set it up.

Hello, an unlocked phone just means that it is not locked to a particular provider and can be used with other compatible GSM providers.

Your phone is probably also unbranded which would mean exactly what Jay defined. If you dont' want to call CS, the settings can be downloaded directly into your phone from Cingular

    Settings from Cingular

I did say generally... BTW, I didn't do anything to my system but MPT did start working about a month ago. I gave it a shot in despiration last month when our broadband internet was down for hours, and to my suprise it actually worked. It usually said "Initializing..." and never actually connected to the phone.

It depends on your model V3, and how its set up. If it isn't a V3i then probably not.
