How can you get the photos off the camera phone (Razr / Verizon) ? I can message the pics to other cameras, but I cannot figure out how to get the photos onto my computer. I thought I was suposed to be able to message a pic to an email address. That would be fine, but I cannot see how to do that, either. Thank you for any help.
Just text it like you have been to others, but put in your email address instead of phone number. Hope this helps
Depending on how many photos you want to send, it may be cost-effective for you to invest in MPT4.0 and a data cable. You can get MPT4.0 for between $10 and $15 on pricegrabber. A data cable is $2.75 shipped here: http://www.pcmicrostore.com/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:10502867
. Somehow I don't think this is what you mean: MPT4.0 at Price Grabber http://www.pricegrabber.com/search.php?form_keyword=MPT4.0&topcat_id=15 .
:lmao: No, I meant Motorola Phone Tools ver. 4.0 http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__Moto...ol_4_0,__17620064/search=motorola+phone+tools
wow. i made out on my package when I bought my razr.. It all came with it... the phone tools, cable, and lot's of other stuff...
Hi, I had the exact same question with my Verizon Ultimate Media Razr V3m. So I bought a data cable and installed it last night. But still, even when it's plugged in, all it wants to do is charge the phone. Thanks. There seems to be no setting or menu option on the phone anywhere that allows me to transfer data in either direction to the phone. Perhaps is it the crappy driver I got with my crappy cable from Ebay (i know, i know)? SHould something happen automatically when I plug the phone into the USB? Thanks! Greg
All the data cable will do is charge the phone unless you have software, ie. BitPim (free off the Internet), Motorola Tools (see above posts for where to purchase), to help transfer data. By data, I mean pics, movies, wallpaper, etc.. Oh forgot to mention, Windows Media Player 10 will let you ul/dl songs.
Hey all,, I have a V3M and got the Motorola package,,,it only shows a V3m and a V3CM as my choices,,,I dled the fix from Motorola still to no avail, The phone does show up as a mtp device while unplugged and as a motorola modem when plugged in. I am trying to get pics and videos off the phone. I have read in places that this phone is "locked" from using certain features. If so,,,how can it be "unlocked" to obtain full use of this nice device?,,The one I have is black on the inside and silver on the outside.I worked for over 4 hours tonight on trying to get it to transfer my pics and videos from the phone to my badass X2 3800 comp. This is a very cool forum,,,nice work admins and moderators Fred
I am assuming you mean Motorola Phone Tools (MPT) as the package. MPT will allow you do the pic thing that you want to do, if it is running correctly. Try these instructions: Installing MPT via cable. System, software and hardware: Windows Xp w/SP2 Available Internet access Motorola Phone Tools ver 4.0 mini-usb to full usb cable 1.) Install the MPT 4.0 software, read/follow the instructions on the screen as it installs. In the process of installing the MPT software, it goes out on the internet and checks for updates. You will be prompted to download, then install the update(s). At this point that is ALL you are going to do and that is to keep updatinguntil there are no more updates. If you are prompted to 'enter/select a Phone Profile'. Do NOT do it, ignore it, let it set there, do not touch it. All you do for this step is install MPT software, download and install the updates. That's it, nothing else. 2.) Reboot your system when you are prompted to. When the system finishes rebooting, click on the MPT icon to activate the software. 3.) NOW 'enter/select a new phone-profile'. Do not use 'Default', give your setup a name, example: 'Dad's V3m, cable' or whatever turns you on. Click on OK twice. 4.) the 'phone wizard' screen will display. Choose CABLE option and click on Next button. 5.) you will be prompted to 'turn on phone', 'connect phone to cable', then 'connect cable to USB port on PC'. Do it. 6.) 'Phone Setup' then starts installing needed drivers. It will then try to detect your phone. If it does not detect it, allow it to launch 'live update' to try to get your drivers and then redect your phone. Step 6 is IMPORTANT. It will 'try' to detect your phone TWICE. Allow it to go through it's process. 7.) when it cannot detect it for the second time, you will be prompted to select your phone and drivers. Choose CDMA from the list on the left and then choose V3cm from the list on the right. then click Next. It will go through it's detect process again, but should find it this time. If it did, you will get a 'Congratulation!' screen displayed. Do not click on anything as the next screen will display automatically - at least mine did. 8.) The 'Phone Setup' screen will display. this puts the MPT Phone icon on the desktop. Watch the 'phone screen' as it will show 'initializing phone, please standby ...' This may take a minute or two. Once it connects or finishes initializing; in the upper left corner of the MPT phone screen it will show a strength meter when it connects. The upper right hand corner, will show the strength of your battery. Using your mouse you can you the full function of the MPT phone keys to make calls, end calls, check your mail, etc... Also note that the options: phonebook, calendar, multimedia studio, synchronizing and txt messaging icons will be grayed out until you move your mouse over them. That is how I did it.
Well,,I got it to connect,,,does everything but show the file transfer manager,,,it had that the last time I installed it,,but it didn't show anything on the phone side . I have Verizon as my carrier,,,,and I tried BitPim too,,,my phone was not listed there and I tried all the others listed thinking I could "fool" the program into seeing my phone. Well it was worth a try but I guess I am stuck "emailing" my pics to myself.,,If anything new comes up please get me here. Thank you for your help Fred
I am new at this, but I want to take the pics that was on the TFlash when I had the 710 and link them on my v3m to contacts and wallpaper. Does anyone have any ideal? I can't even save currents pics to the TFlash, just the internal memory. Thanks, meb
I am going to do a lot of ASSUMING here, as I do not have a V710 to work with. Since the V3m will not recognize 'items' on the card, you can assume that the V710 and V3m work with the card differently, ie tree structure, naimg convention, etc... What I would do is get BitPim and/or Motorola Phone Tools and get all the info I can off of the card that you want to go onto the V3m. I would pull each individual 'item' of what I wanted to keep, then I would make a complete backup of the card. Both products do a good job of backing up the card. Then put the card in the V3m, reformat it and then move the individual items over to the V3m. I maybe wrong, but I do no think the phonebook's, calendar's, etc.. will be the same for both phones. MPT copies the phonebooks and calendars over to Outlook. Then you can hook the V3m up and copy the phonebook and calendar over to V3m. Sorry, getting long winded here, but you should get the general idea. If you have questions just ask. If you have a problem, them give us some detail of what you did and the problem so we can have a better understandig of how to help. Hope that helps.
Verizon V3M update I talked to Verizon today for a loooong time. I was told by tier 2 support that the V3M does NOT in any form or format support image transfers to pc via anything other than email. <deep sigh> wish I knew that 2 days ago,,my 15 are up now.
I do not know why you are having this problem copying/moving pics from your phone. Go to this thread and there is lot's and lot's of people who have transferred all kinds of files to/from the phone. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/razr-phones/54510-motorola-razr-cdma-versions-v3c-v3m.html They are ALL using either MPT or BitPim to do it. Of course, you may to SEEM the phone to make it work. The whole thing is, you need to get the images off of the camera onto your PC. Then you can copy them over to the camera. Try this site and see if it can help you. http://www.motov3m.com/tiki-index.php
Thanks for all this and I believe it will work okay. Getting ready to download BITPim. Assuming you must purchase MPT v4 as I had the old v3 for the 710. I have also looked at other threads where you provide very helpful info and I appreciate it. Thanks again
MPT v3 should work with the V3m. Just keep upgrading online, until there are no more upgrades available. Should take you to ver 4.12 or 4.21, something like that.
You can get a Motorola cd with the software and a USB cable on eBay for about $5.95 plus shipping at: http://stores.ebay.com/CELLULAR-SATISFACTION . I bought one and it works quite well. Bob
I just got a new RAZR V3m from Verizon (August '06). I had no problem getting the pictures off the phone. The quality is ok, but not that great. In options I set image quality to fine, resolution to 640 x 480. I'm using Windows XP Pro. You will need: 1. mini usb cable 2. drivers 3. BitPim I downloaded "driver tool" and ran it. http://www.bvrp.com/Customers/Motorola/DriverTool.zip I then dowloaded and installed BitPim. (I am using latest version 0.9.05) http://www.bitpim.org With the phone open I plugged it into my pc using the miniusb cable. Windows automatically regognized it and I let windows do an auto install (this is necessary for BitPim to recognize the com port). I went into BitPim. From the top menu I chose "Edit" then "Settings" and chose "Motorola USB Modem" for the Com Port. *Note, I had to unplug the phone and plug it back in before it was recognized. From the main screen I clicked on the "Get Phone Data" Icon at upper left. (not sure if this is necessary) My phone went to a crazy screensaver. I then went to the "FileSystem" icon in the tree and could browse through all the files on the phone. From the tree that appears at right: Browse to "motorola" then to "shared" then to "picture" You should see all saved photos as *.jpg files. Right click the file and select "save." Save it to your harddrive. You've got your pictures.
I use Bluetooth for all my music, pictures and video. Picked up a Kensington Dongle at Radio Shack for $9.95 and it works great. Use p2k commander for skins, etc. Plus it's cool to Bluetooth items to other phones that are Bluetooth capable. Alltel V3M
I just used P2K Commander, and a USB 2.0 cable with the help of this guide: http://www.somelifeblog.com/2007/02/motorola-v3-razr-transfer-pictures-step.html
