Hi any technical professionals know if the LG enV will work on the Alltel system? It is a CDMA phone and Alltel supposedly partners with Verizon and Sprint. Would there need to be a software install done on it and a PRL load?
    Any guidance please. Thanks

Voice would most likely work on it ok, everything else, Mobile Web, MMS, Axcess Apps, ect ect would not. They may both be CDMA but they are totally diff carries when it goes beyond voice on the phone. Yes Alltel partners with those carriers but thats for roaming via voice and some data. It has nothing to do with the equipment. Also ten to one the PRL update wont work right for it, and also Alltel doesnt allow you to activate a non Alltel phone on their network. Oh there are ways around that, just calling into CS and doing an ESN change. Just remember that the phone wont work as it should, its great functions will be useless. And by all rights Alltel can reserve the right to cancel your service if they choose to since your using a non Alltel phone.

Voice will work, text and other messaging may have hiccups. The PRL should be able to load. But someone smarter may know better about whether VZW phones have trouble downloading the PRL from Alltel.
