Ok, here is the question... I am on Verizon, and dont like the androids, and dont reallly want to wait until Verizon comes out with the iPhone. Bell and Tellus are up in Canada with the iPhone, and Bell is CDMA, and so is Tellus(Right?)... can i unlock their iPhone and bring it down to the states and use it on Verizon somehow? Thank you soo much!
No. Although Bell and Telus operate legacy CDMA networks, the iPhone they both carry operates on their respective GSM-based HSPA networks, NOT on CDMA. They do not carry a CDMA version of the iPhone. No one does. So you're going to have to wait until Apple releases a CDMA iPhone to get one. If it isn't one sold by Verizon, don't expect them to activate it. Verizon is notoriously difficult in activating phones they don't sell directly.
As is Sprint. Unless you have the MSL from Sprint you can't use any of their phones on another CDMA network (even if the network allows you to!)
Those days are long gone. Brings me memories of having a korean cdma phone on verizon 2003-2005. I believe they stopped activating non-verizon phones when the e911 regulation was passed in 2005.
Ugh. Thats annoying... i thought i found a work around... haha. Ill just have to wait for the verizon iphone then.
