So I'm coming from Sprint with a treo 700wx to USCC with a red V3m. I've been reading about this alltell flash and such. Is it worth it for my phone? What exactly is it? pros/cons etc....

    Thanks in advance!!!!

The USCC/Alltel firmwares are virtually identical. They both use the Motorola Interface, so I dont believe you would gain anything. We flash to Alltel from verizon to gain bluetooth file transfer, and custom skins, etc. Tyere would be no reason for you to need any kind of flash

A guy I work with has the Sprint v3m, and while it has a few more features than the Verizon f/w, I still think it is restircting somewhat. You still cant use custom skins. If I personally were to rate functionality, it would go Alltel/USCC, then Sprint, then Verizon. USER friendliest however probably goes Verizon, then Sprint, then Alltel/USCC. Thats just my opinion however. I like the Java on the Sprint V3m, but it comes down to customizing it with skins, etc, and having the best netword, servicewise w/ Verizon. I think if I couldnt have flashed my phone to Alltel, I would have switched from Verizon to someone else.

I got a USCC V3M recently also, I can't seem to figure out how to modify the GUI/get new skins/themes..

everything I see on forums is for what sounds like broken verizon phones?
