Can I get a discount on the iphone if I'm due for an upgrade? Can it go towards the ipod? Heck, I'm not even sure at&t does phone upgrades. I know Verizon did. Also, they're only selling one version (the 8) of the iphone online. Does this mean a better ipod is coming out soon? Sorry if these are dumb question, I really need to lurk more.
Can you get an upgrade discount? No. Can it go towards an iPod? No. Apple eliminated the 4GB iPhone when they lowered the price of the 8GB version and because sales of the 4GB version were weak compared to the 8GB one. With Apple, you never know when their going to update things until they announce it. The only iPhone update coming up is a 3G version, but there is no set date for its release. Rumors say it could be out by mid-Summer or Fall.
You're welcome, Jake. I forgot to mention in my original reply that you're questions were not dumb. I'm sure there are many people who want to know the answers to the questions you asked. Just glad I could help.
yea exactly it is a good question. its 399 with a new 2year anyway you slice it. as far as the 3G ive heard its being pushed back till 09 possibly, so im not holding my breath. my friend who has an iphone just recently got the new firmware update and he did report that it made the phone quiet a bit better in some trouble areas. now if they will only give it a true mms it will pretty much perfect except for no 3G
I can see 2 sides to this. It can push buyers off their phones alltogeather, or make people sitting on the fence right now waiting for the 3G version to buy right now. Personally I think it would probably be a fantastic, innovative device if it was 3G. As an EDGE device its ok. -Jay
As much as I would like one, I still want to wait for a second version/3G to come out. Mostly for the reason of improvement from the original device. So if need be, I can wait another year (besides I don't want to be on contract with AT&T right now anyway!).
yea i think that it is definetly like what Jay is saying. Trying to get people sitting on the fence to buy now, like it, and buy again later.
