Update On Att/Cingular Merger

    Does anyone have any updates on the merger. Has it been approved yet and when will the two comanies officially merge into one?

    Still waiting to officially hear from the DOJ & FCC to approve the merger, the DOJ has said unofficially that they will approve it & the FCC unofficially said 3 of the 5 members are for the draft proposal but 2 haven't made a decision yet. It is taking longer then anyone expected.

    i think everything is about 2 weeks behind schedule, so by the middle to the end of november now

    From what I've read lately, I think the hold-up is due to the FCC requesting divestitures of overlapping service in some markets. I think once Cingular agrees, then it will be official. Just guessing...
