Well strictly speaking it is my wife's. She bought a Motorola v60g on T-Mobile a couple of weeks ago in San Francisco. We wanted it unlocked since she is traveling to Europe soon and may want to use pre-paid SIMs. Anyway, they came through with the unlock code in a matter of days and we entered it last night and tried both a Dutch Vodafone (Libertel) pre-paid SIM and my Cingular SIM. Both worked fine of course. We have also turned on international calls and international roaming should be enabled on her account. We're not anticipating any problems, but I'll report back when she gets back. Those of you who may want to do something similar, make sure you get it all sorted out before your trip. At a minimum, you want to enabled international calls (since you will probably call the US while traveling if for no other reason than to check voicemail) and international roaming. Do this through customer service. If you want to use local SIMs, then your handset needs to be unlocked.
