Hello to all, I'm new to this forum and I don't know much about cellular technology. But , I was looking on ebay the other day and saw an unlocked iphone and i've been fascinated ever since..........I am however a little confused about what "unlocked" actually means however. Can you get signal off any cell tower anywhere if your phone is unlocked, do you have to pay a monthly bill? Basicly I'm just looking for a definition of "unlocked". Thanks In advance for the help!
You still need to pay for service. Unlocked just means you can use any SIM card in your phone, not just the one from the provider who sold the phone (in case of iPhone in the US, AT&T).
Unlocked means that this phone will work on any GSM network provided that the phone has bands that cover the service you're trying to use. GSM phones can only use GSM towers and CDMA and iDEN phones can only use towers with those technologies.
unlock 3g iphone by universal sim for 2 months already. so far, no problems at all other sim unlocking methods, you lost signal after a few of use
