AZ, I'd like to get my old T-Mo branded Moto unlocked by t-mobile themselves. Now, I don't have an account with them anymore, can I still get the unlock code then? How do I contact T-Mobile(meaning do they have a special dept. for this?) and what info do I give them(if it's an email...or do I call them)? Lots of dumb questions I think ;)
    Thanks,
    Andy

DO NOT POST YOUR HANDSET'S SERIAL NUMBER IN HERE.

    Repeat after me.

I will not post my phone's IMEI or ESN in a public post in these forums.

If you do, we will delete your post. If you repost it, you will have a three-day ban.

PLEASE just private-message Cingular GSM User for your unlocking needs.

A Qualcom phone is a CDMA model with an ESN. It doesn't have an IMEI or operate GSM, or have a place for a SIM.

Andy, you will need to have an active T-Mobile service for 90 days before they will give you the unlock code. You can get Pre Pay or regular contract. If you get Prepay then you will need to have a refill of less than 30 days. Getting an unlock code from them was easy, I called my Pre Pay CS gave them all the info they requested and I got the code in 24 hours.

I changed my T-mobile plan after contract expiration last October, to the Prepay plan and had to pay $50, which gave me 125 mins and a Samsung r225. I then put a refill of $10 last week and asked for and got my unlock code.

I think Charlyee is right on this. You need to be a current customer for this to work. I emailed T-Mobile my Name, SSN, Account Number, Phone make and model, and IMEI. I will try to find the email address and send it to you if you want to give it a shot...

...sure, thanks guys. I'd like to give it a shot. I was a T-Mobile customer for exactly one year, I think I should be eligible to get my unlock code!

Hmmm, I didn't know if that was the right one. I found it on some guys website. Call CS and see if they can do it for you. I have done it both ways, so I know they can do it if you call them...

Ok-I tried calling them already, but waited forever, then hung up. I'll try again later then I guess. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know what happens.

FYI, this address was disabled by T-Mobile about a year or so ago. To get an unlock code, call Customer Care or send them a message via your myTmobile page.

Can you unlock a 6340??? It's not the i model... what all would I have access to?

    From what I've seen, I'm stuck unless I get a 6340i :( I can't believe I've been here over 2 years and still have under 100 posts :)

You know, every time I begin to get my faith in human intelligence back, something like this happens.

    READ THE ENTIRE THREAD.
DO NOT POST YOUR SERIAL, ESN OR IMEI NUMBERS IN THIS THREAD.
HE CANNOT UNLOCK MOTOROLA PHONES. Thus, here is the logic:

    1. Is my v551 a Motorola phone?
    2. If yes, then NO HE CANNOT UNLOCK IT.
    3. If no, then the possibility exists and you should PRIVATE MESSAGE him.

This thread is now closed to new replies. If you want your phone unlocked, you will have to private-message Cingular GSM user. It should be no loss to those who can read and know that they shouldn't be replying with their information in here.

If you start another thread and post your IMEI, ESN or serial number, you will be banned from posting.
