I believe that early nights & weekends have to be applied to all lines under a family plan - all or none.

    I don't know about PTT.

Yes, they don't have it setup where if you get Early N&W or PTT for 1 line only, but depending on how many lines you have, it doesn't make sense to have it for 1 line only in a family plan.

    Early N&W on a single line $8.99
    Family Plan is $16.00

    PTT single line $9.99
    Family Plan is $19.99

and with PTT it wouldn't make sense to get it for 1 line only on a family plan.

Yeah, I've been on unlimited Media net for about 16 months now @ 19.99. I believe it was last Jan or Feb that they added 200 text and Unlimited Video to the $19.99 plan as well.

oh yeah......dont get me wrong.........that packages are great but they need to simply make more combinations that are varied for different needs........one package with more texts but less data........one package with a lot of texts and little data.........unlmited everything.........more packages that are tailored more or less

If I had held my breath for as long as I've been waiting for unlimited everything (I.E. Text), I would've been dead years ago...

yeah.........unless AT&T make ssome big changes there won't be unlmited texts but it would be nice like i said to have somepackages that are a little more tailored than the ones they have now

We will see, I heard they are testing Unlimited SMS between Cingular/AT&T Customers in 2 area's of the country (actually 1 was put on hold for now). They may be offering this to compete with Verizon in the near future.
(I know I hope they do).

I hope so too. Now where are those 2 locations?;)

Edit: on a side note there was rumers that there is a BB plan that included unlimited Email, Internet, SMS and MMS. I think it was called as BBunlim4 which is on the prsonal plan side and it goes for $10 more than the regular personal BB plan.

Even being the top Wireless Carrier out there, eventually I think with the other's constantly changing and becoming so much more competitive, Cingular/At&t will eventually have to change things...

But then again I've been thinking that for years now, and it hasn't changed so far...

I guess when you're #1, you can do as you please...

I heard Atlanta GA & Houston TX were to be the test area's. I really think they need to do these test's in more populated area's like NY & CA, they would get a better feel for what people want, especially with the NY area being a Verizon area & CA seems to be a big Sprint & Verizon area.

I'm pretty sure Cingular knows that people want unlimited texting and that's exactly the reason why they wouldn't give it -- if there's a limit, they can always collect on the overages :)

You're describing a perfect cash cow for them -- why would they want to give customers a cut of their pie? Unless they see the lack of unlimited texting of some sort as a reason for increase in churn, nothing's going to happen.

I agree they look at it as a cash cow, and hopefully 1 day they are going to wake up & see Verizon is still adding more subscribers a Qtr. (especially if you take away the pre-paid subs) and they are offering the better SMS plans including the M2M SMS.

Maybe when people leave Cingular & if they take a quick survey of why and who they are going to, Cingular would get a better picture of people defecting for better data/sms plans vs phones & coverage issues.
Sure they have the same calling plans, but data is where Cingular is weak.

thats the one reason why Verizon is better than all the other companies in the messaging department........M2M messaging...........and no.......Cingular will not be losing customers any time soon..........if they introduce all these other cool things in other parts of their service......people will look at it as a very small con

From what i know of, it seems like cali is more of a Cingular state or a Cingular & verizon state, not sprint! I have about 750 numbers in my phone and like mabe 2 or 3 are sprint/nextel, 75-100 are T-mobile, and 100-150 are Verizon, the rest are all cingular! Most everyone i talk to or know or the companys i know all use Mostly Cingular. Cali can not be a sprint state at ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

At least in Bay Area, Northern CA Cingular & Verizon are much stronger than Sprint & T-Mobile. One thing that works for Cingular right now is the T-Mobile roaming -- it covers a lot of holes in Cingular's own coverage and I don't see Cingular hurrying to patch things up -- they made a few early last year and I haven't seen anything since. If they don't get their act together before the roaming agreement with T-Mobile dissipates, Verizon's coverage will be the most complete one.

From what I heard is that there is more to the roaming than we realy know. It seems that T Mobile is delaying the process for the unwinding for the agreement and if the agreemetn is done, then T mobile might end up suffering big time in the CA areas. (this was from a T Mobile insider which was confirmed by another insider from Cingular).
