I don't really have problems with United. Members of our family work there so we often do space-available travel (quarter-fare to go standby) and if you know how to do it right, it's great. First class across the country is sweeeeeeeet. No, let's talk about Continental, may they rot forever, God forbid. We flew LAX to EWR to YHZ to YYZ to LAX and it was the most uncomfortable set of flights I'd ever been on. They were rude, you don't get food (you pick up one of those retarded "bistro bags" on the way onto the plane), they won't give you a can of soda (only the little wimpy plastic cup jammed full of ice), etc. I fly Southwest all the time for business and I've only ever had one problem with them... and they looked at my flight history, saw that in one year I had 102 flights with them, and quickly gave me my way lest I decamp for United. JetBlue is awesome to go to the East Coast... the seats are a little wider, there's that TV, and if you fly from Long Beach you can call the Huntington Beach Chili's and they'll deliver a "picnic bag" of food to you at the airport terminal, ready to take on-board. We're headed to Hartford ("so, Connecticut, we meet again.") in August and we're flying United from Orange County through O'Hare, that should be interesting. BTW -- first class on SAS is THE only way to go.
