Happened to pass by one on Market St last night. Shop looked nice - very spacial. Lots of assistants. Lots of phones and accessories on display. No Motorola v60s in stock.
Went to the one just down the road at One Embarcadero Center. Smaller shop, lots of assistants including a guy from the East Coast who was presumably there to help with the launch. Local staff didn't seem very knowledgeable. East Coast guy was sharp. They do have v60s if anyone is interested. Interestingly, the Ericsson T68 is only available on-line and not in stores.

    Additions to my post above:

    1. Both the VoiceStream and T-Mobile sites do not show the T38m as being available in California, so how one is supposed to buy this on-line, I do not know.

    2. I asked about getting the phone SIM unlocked and they seemed to think that they could give me that information almost immediately (they need to request the unlock code, but that's it). Cingular has been known to make you wait.

UHH IT's because the T68 is NOT available in CA. Only in other Voicestream markets. CA will launch with the T68i sometime in August.

    hey aiwapro,
T-mobile is everywhere around here now. In the papers, on tv and on the radio. They don't have a store to close to my area yet but I'm sure one will be coming soon. [IMG] I'd like to see Sprint and others give better offering now to compete.

It seems that they have had a very successful launch. I have not heard many complaints, hardly any at all.

Yeah I hope so. T-mobile has the advantage now because they don't have to worry about overselling because they have so much room on their network to take on new customers. Big advantage.
