Can contacts be transferred directly from my Microsoft Outlook Address Book to a Verizon instrument?

I do not wish to have to enter information manually when I get a new cell phone, and do not want to have to go to a Verizon store for them to do a transfer from my ATT phone. I have synched my ATT cell phone contacts to my Outlook Address Book.

I have looked at Backup Assist but not sure if my question is answered. Other units, such as a Blackberry, may be synched with Outlook, for example, without the help of the service provider (perhaps not in Verizon's case).

    Thanks.

There are several answers for this:

    Short and sweet:

If you are not using a "smartphone" like a Treo or Blackberry, which offers PC client to Mobile solutions for syncing, the options for "feature" phones are varied and the results are mixed.

If you can get your phone working with BitPim, it is possible to import contacts from Outlook into the application, and then sync with your phone. YMMV, however.

The next option is Airset, which is a Get-It-Now feature that you pay $6.95/monthly for, but opens up a slew of other options for you in the meantime.

Otherwise, you'll have to manually key in the information you keep in Outlook and enter it into the Backup Assistant site, then set your phone to automatic updates at set times during the day.
