this might be a general question, but since we are planning on getting Cing's, might as well post in here. :p

we plan on getting a family plan with cingular, but can we transfer our existing cell phone numbers from verizon to cing after the new phones have been activated and numbers assigned?

yes... its called a port... as long as the numbers are in your customer service area (ie your billing address is Bangor ME and your phone number is LA) you can take them all

Best bet is to make sure this happens w/i the first 30 days of activation under Cingular. Within the return period, you can generally make a case for getting them changed for free. After that, you may be looking at a number change charge.
