What is your total bill? For example, they claim that you pay $39.99 per month. How much are you actually paying?
I have called T-Mobile and asked about the taxes and fees. He said that he cannot tell me how much I'll be paying even if I give him the zip code. I might have to go to a local shop. I have created a spreadsheet for 2 year service. The last thing I need is taxes and fees for Lawrenceville, GA 30043.
No, with family plans the 1st 2 lines are included in the price of the plan, so your only paying tax on the plan price & any options you select like SMS or a Data plan ect...
Some resources for you: contact the town hall in your town to find out if there is a utility users' tax, how much it is, and whether it is levied on mobile phone accounts. Contact the Georgia Public Service Commission in Atlanta for the statewide fees. I'm normally against extra regulation but it seems to me that companies should be required to disclose up front, prior to your signing a contract, the exact amount that taxes and fees would add to your bill. Can you imagine the screaming success if, say, T-Mobile were to offer a "$49.99 -- and that's all you pay" plan? It would need to be high enough to encompass the various localities, but I bet it would see success. I'm looking forward to my bill going down significantly -- I have plans totalling $71.98 but pay nearly $85 here in the City of Los Angeles, mostly due to a 10% utility users' tax -- but when I move to Anaheim this week, which has no utility users' tax, my bill will go down $7.20 a month.
