    What does AFAIK mean?

On the V3m, they read low, med-low, med, med-high and high.

You can SEEM the V3m to make it read 1~7.

haha AFAIK, not AFIAK lol im just being a smart ___! anyways, how do you bring up the gain table? and this is from BITPIM or P2K? Does the ringer volume increase or the headset (where you hear the person talking when in-call)? I am a little confused... Also can we talk more about using MPT to get ringtones (MP3 quality)?

Ok, first of all, you caught me on a transposition error. I should have spell checked.

You use P2k Software to edit your gain table. I am not familiar with BitPM, I've never used it. It seems (Pun intended) to be a newcomer on the modding scene and I haven't seen any reason to move from P2K Commander & MotoKit as they have worked very well for me (And I got the drivers working on my computer! I don't want to screw that up!) I also notice that most people using BitPM are using CDMA models, so this may be something that only works on CDMA phones. I don't know because I only have GSM equipment.

Anyway, there is a separate value for everything in the gain table. You can increase just your ringer volume if you like, or just your BT headset. I give a modest boost to everything when I go in there and mod my phones. You can also control the microphone gains in this file as well. It is usually a balancing act as you really can't make the microphones too sensitive when increasing the speaker volumes, or otherwise you'll get an echo on the line at higher volume levels.

As far as MPT goes you just create a 30 second mp3 file and use mpt to upload it to your phone. You should then be able to use it as a ringtone.

How do you get to the 'gain table' through P2K?

In your phone's file system there is a file named gain_table.bin. You can load this file into your computer with either P2K Commander or MotoKit. Save a backup copy on your computer (For when you screw up), then you can mod the file with a hex editor, and then upload it back with either P2K Commander or MotoKit again.
