The drivers are tricky, I'm not sure what I did to get them to work on my phone since I was doing sooo much at that time. If you are running Win xp w/ sp2 installed it is a bear. My understanding is if you have access to a system w/ sp1 on it that the driver install is much easier. -Jay
Quick Update: Seem edited the RAZR last night to enable engineering menu, and updated all the gain settings to xlr8 recommended values in preparation for the arrival of my H3 headset. Whole thing went flawlessly...........
I'm happy for you Scrumhalf. At least your phone and computer cooperate with each other :browani: Good luck with your H3 headset when you get it!
Kjo, how did it go for you with the drivers? Did you download the driver pack from motomodders.net? Or did you pick up MPT 4.0?
I downloaded the drivers...but for some reason I think I got the same thing that you originally sent me. perhaps I'll delete everything and start over again. I never get the found new hardware wizard or all the drivers unloaded as the article says. Whatever it is..I'm sure I'm causing it Personally I'm questioning my intelligence factor on this. I'm pretty good with computers, but I think stupidity is starting in. I've lost my touch.
Well, don't feel so bad. Drivers are the bane of windoze... more like plug and pray, I think. This is what you need: http://www.pricegrabber.com/p__Moto...ol_4_0,__17620064/search=motorola+phone+tools $11.74 shipped to PDX. Or else, maybe we should just have a Portland area WA get-together and I can do the edits for you
Sounds like fun! I think it is just kjo and I here in the PDX area... at least I can't recall anyone else. :hmm:
Thanks for the link! The get together sounds like fun, perhaps maybe it would be safer for you to do the edits. I think I'm bad luck as far as these drivers go. I love that analogy! Plug and Pray. :lmao: Is there more people around Portland area???????????
Not sure... at least not active participants to my knowledge. There are others relatively close by like Dan Albrich down in Eugene and TProphet up in Renton - I am sure there are others who maybe don't post frequently.
Well maybe one day we can all do a meet and greet. I think it would be fun. We could always just call it a Cell phone's Anonymous meeting. :lmao: :loony: hee hee
I wish! Too bad I have a job. I could stuff my self inside a suit case and go back with my step-dad, who lives in Tigard. He is down here visiting us & seeing his new granddaughter.
Okay so I have to ask. My phone came with a data cable. no cd or anything, but obviously something must be working. When I first plug my phone in it comes up with Removable drive, and I can copy and paste pictures/ringtones etc....back and forth from the computer to the phone with no problem. When I double click on the removable drive folder it opens up a whole bunch of of options. I have a folder that says audio, pictures, system, ringtones, etc. like 12 or 13 of them. most of them are blank, but obviously my computer does see this. It's a file structure for the phones files. SO then why won't the dang pkman converse with the phone? arghhhh!!!!! It just bugs me to death! another driver/pack / cable ???? won't it just do the same thing. I've downloaded 2 different usb moto drivers and it doesn't even react. I think I've got the phone blues!
hi guys, i need help real bad, i tried to increase the volume also on my v635, i tried with the P2Kman and the hex editor but found it too complicated, iam not too bright with these things, so i found this program in howard forum called Motokit, well this is what happened i hit volume increased 2 notches then went to see if anything happened with the sound in the phone, nothing happened, i kept reading in the forum where it said to go to control panel and the audio part, and check a box that says USE DEFAULT ONLY, so i did this and went back to try to affect the volume on the phone, and guess what now not a sound comes from my speaker phone. what happened? how and is there anyway to undo this, ive tried, restore but of course i did not do any backup of anything, i tried master clear and reset and nothing. PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU. you can email me at racapellan2003@yahoo.com
That happened the first time I tried to edit my V551. Restoring the backup did nothing. What did make the phone work again was reflashing the phone with a monster pack. After that I was very careful in making double sure I was doing things right before I went on. -Jay
Hi Jay, ok but is there a way you can tell me how you did what you did or direct me to the place where i can get such info on how to do that flash thing? i hear alot about flash and flex and i dont understand it very well. Iam about to go to wikipidia to find what first about the terms what are they talking about. Any ways guy thanks for your reply and any other advise or help you can give will mucho appreciated. thanks
go check out my link in my signature for my reference base. In there are links to all the places I went to to learn how to do this. A flash is the phone's ROM, a flex is a custom set of settings for the phone. If a flash & flex are combined in one file they are called a monster pack, or MP for short. -Jay
I had a simular thing happen to me. I thought I transfered the file backto my v551 , but I didn't. Luck for me once I did transfer it back it worked great.
Ok, I got both programs my phone connects, I download th gain file and open it with the hex editor, where do i go from there? all i see is all these number i have go no idea what to do to increas the speaker phone volume and ear piece volume. By the way i screwed up my v635 using the Motokit, i read that you had to go to control panel audio and then check the box that says USE ONLY DEFAULT DEVICES i did this and then tried to increase the volume to 4 and unhooked the phone and tried to play one of my mp3s and guess what? no sound, speaker phone or ear piece, i have no idea what i did wrong. I took in to the shop, its still under warranty, someone told me the same thing happened to them and they fixed it by flashing the phone, i was about ready to get my camera and take a picture of it with flash, haha, iam not too bright with these things, i get things done but with alot of troubles. Anyway now i got my v300 and i want to do it like you say using those 2 programs, iam persistent aint i, but i need to know how to use he hex to affect the gain. Also is there any ways to put spanish language into the phone? if there is let me know, please. Thanks for all your help and advise, we little people depend on you big guys and gals out there to help us along. God bless ya you can email me also. thanks
Just increase the number in the offset, then save the file again and upload it to the phone. You then need to turn the phone off then back on for the changes to take effect. Take small steps and only increase the numbers 1 or 2 steps at a time. If you make it too loud you will blow out your speaker then you will never hear anything. -Jay
First off, I want to thank everyone who spends the time to answer questions on this and other forums. I have spent hours looking, but I cannot find any help with the following issue: I WANT to have the time displayed in military time (24 hour clock) on my V3m. Yes, I want it. I know how to do seem editting, but I cannot find the right seems to edit. Does anyone have any help for me?? Thanks in advance.
I don't know about CDMA models, but on GSM models you turn auto update off on the clock and go back into clock settings, turn on 24 hr format, then turn auto update back on. No seem edit required. Jay
Start MSU and connect phone via MSU minimize MSU screen Start P2K and SEEM the phone to: offset = 008d bit = 6 set = 1 (put check mark here - this is on) click on save/load to phone button exit P2k end and exit MSU disconnect phone from cable and computer Then turn off phone for few seconds. Turn on phone. then: Menu -> Setting & Tools -> Initial Setup -> Time & Date Autoupdate - change this to OFF Highlight the time -> Change Scroll to am/pm up arrow changes the time to am/pm/24 hr Click on OK to save changes Autoupdate change back to ON You be done! Enjoy
I just moved to Maple Valley Washington and have an unlocked Razr v3i. Have been reading the posts and am thinking about raising the volume on the ringer if possible. I have never tried editing anything on my phone but would like to try it. I will keep reading the posts and see what I can pick up
I do not know about the V3i, but on the V3m you can change it from low~high, to 1~7 with 7 being the highest. Do know that it will have to be SEEM'd to change to 1~7. Here is the most current SEEM list. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/a...-razr-cdma-versions-v3c-v3m-seems-for-v3m.xls Here is the BEFORE screen-shots of the SEEM's. http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/a...ersions-v3c-v3m-install-and-setting-up-bitpim Hope that helps some.
The actual volume on the phone does go up to 7. Was this what you were talking about or is there another change when editing? I will look at the links that you listed. Thanks:biggrin:
Yes. I was talking about SEEM'ing it so it would go from 1~7. But since your's is already set that way, you can ignore the SEEM'ing.
AFAIK all of them go from 1 to 7. An edit to your gain table will make each step progressively louder than it was before. -Jay
