Today tmobile announced that 7 usncall centers are closing in three months affecting 3300 jobs, luckily my center was not affected, but what a blow for 3300 families, regardless of how you feel about tmobile please wish these hard working folks luck in picking up the pieces.
tmobileman, Were some relocations offered? Perhaps not useful if your house won't sell. I suppose none of the closed call centers were close enough to remaining call centers to commute? Presently, my wireline employer is shrinking the quantity of technicians at the retirement rate (on average). COtech
Honestly, I don't know why anyone runs call centers anymore. With VOIP over a broadband connection, I don't see why they can't have their entire staff telecommute from home.
Always sad to hear news like this. Like the idea Jay. But I would think information security would be the biggest road block in implementing the idea.
Maybe have tier 2 and "managers" in a small center, but I would think that the tier 1 folks that handle the bulk of the calls don't need the highly sensitive information.
That sincerely bites! I feel so bad for the employees and their families The "bleeding" in this nation has gotta stop. Too much negative........
