The granting of these licenses fulfills T-Mobile's winning bids during the recent FCC Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) auction.
This acquisition of spectrum has doubled T-Mobile's spectrum position in the top 100 U.S. markets, which will facilitate a planned 2007 commercial rollout of 3G next-generation-network services to enhance core voice services, and deliver applications that will take consumer-based PC functionality mobile. now the've moved the date from the end of 2008 to 2007
Hmmm... perhaps I should not have been so eager to upgrade to a 2G PEBL with a two-year contract. Oh well, I'm sure I'll buy a new 3G phone when the time comes.
please note that the first part of my last post was a quote from that news article posted by Matt.....and i meant to put a question mark after:
They will start the rollout with NYC in mid 2007, but it won't be done nationwide until 2008 at least.
yep.......they need to make some competition to keep prices down.....you know how low plan prices used to be back when there were like 20 companies......everything was so much cheaper
Excellent. Just about when I'll be eligible for another upgrade. I think it has more to do with people wanting more out of their wireless service than the number of companies, really. Deregulation helped a lot with pricing, too. Prices are going to get more expensive because of 3G network buildouts, etc. but I don't think they'll be too bad because there are so many more customers for wireless than there used to be. I guess we'll see how it goes down the line.
yeah.....your probably right......cellular technology is no longer an infant..........i cant wait........btw....my contract isnt out until 2008......i just signed up for a 2 yr SERO plan.......red RAZR V3m...i love it except im having trouble sending and receiving files cuz Sprint keeps locking them but thats a different topic entirely...........their original date was the end of '08 so hopefully itll stay that way cuz i dont want to come in late on the fun
