I don't think so on the SERO plans. At least not yet.

I don't see the option for having N&W starting at 7:00pm, only 6:00pm is available now. :(

Does the free roaming apply to both on- and off-network roaming, as long as off-network is not 50% of the calls? Thanks.

Yes, and there hasn't been any evidence that Sprint has ever enforced the so called 50% rule.

    Two questions regarding nighttime minutes:

If I'm talking to a friend beginning at 6:55pm and I have the 7pm N&W plan, will I only use up five anytime minutes and the remaining minutes be free? Or will I be charged anytime minutes for the entire duration of the call because it began before 7pm? Thanks.

You have to originate the call at 7PM or later in order for the minutes to be free. If you make the call at 6:59PM you will be using up your anytime minutes for the duration of the call. It works the same way with all carriers.

How about the opposite end of the N&W option? If I start a call at 6:59 AM (assuming that my free nights and weekends extends until 7AM) and it lasts for three hours, will all three hours be free or will just one minute be free?

In that case the entire call would be free since the call originated at 6:59 instead of 7:00.

Once again anyone who wants a referral has to send me a private message here. I don't send out e-mails anymore.

I have had so many problems with trying to get Sero. First I ran the gamut of e-care emails requesting it. No go. I then was told I would receive a call from a csr and today I was on the phone with the csr for nearly 40 minutes. I was told:

-I could not join sero without ETF of 150.00
-i'd not be able to keep my same sprint pcs number
-I'd have to try to go through the sero site only and sign up for a new contract.

It's frustrating to read how people supposedly just emailed e-care and got the plan switched over very easily, somewhat depressing I'll have to pay 150.00 and lose my number to get it.

Pleeze, a little help muddling through this chicken/egg thing..

I scanned the SERO threads, but this answer didn't jump out at me.

I'm currently a Nextel customer and my commitment term expired in December, so I'm a "free agent".

I want to switch to Sprint and get the SERO package. I now have an employee referral email :) :thumb:

OK, tried to sign up for SERO thru Sprint customer service. I finally got a rep that says "Yes, we can do that". But I was unsuccessful because, here's the "which comes first, chicken/egg" part that I'm confused about. She was perfectly willing to sign me up to SERO, but said I needed to have a Sprint PCS phone before she could sign me up for an account; However, SHE can't sell me the phone. I have to get a Sprint phone FIRST.

OK, so I set out to get the PCS phone I want. I call the local Sprint store (to compare w/online price). But they tell me they won't sell me ANY phone WITHOUT a plan, full price or not. And the local store CAN'T sign up to SERO plans. So I assume the online phone purchase is the same, you'd have to get a Sprint plan in order to buy one.

Hence the chicken/egg quandry for trying to sign up with SERO over the phone: They say I can't sign up for SERO without first having a Sprint phone. But I can't buy a sprint phone without buying a plan also. And the people who say they CAN sign me up to the SERO plan over the phone, say they can't sell me the phone.

What am I missing? Did everybody on this forum who talked about signing up for SERO with customer service over the phone, already HAVE a suitable Sprint phone???

And so how do I work this, then, other than just trying it through that SERO webpage online? I want to make sure I don't lose my old Nextel #, that's one reason I was trying to do it over the phone (and also see if I couldn't get a few of those freebies like 6PM, 500 free txt, that folks here talked about  )

Would you be interested in a used phone in good working condition as a temporary way to set up your account?

Re: Pleeze, a little help muddling through this chicken/egg thing..

Hey, Larry, I might have to do something like that (temp phone).

I still think I'm missing a piece of the puzzle in this process, though. I'm going to try to get a complete answer from Sprint maybe via email. The "process" makes no sense, the way the rep was telling me, though.

Hmmm, I wonder, can one of Sprints SALES reps sign me up for SERO and allow me to purchase a phone simultaneously, I wonder. I haven't seen any indication in these threads that the sales reps could sign someone up for the SERO.

If it comes down to no other way than the temp phone, I'll try to reach you through PM and talk about that. Thanks!!

    Hey Larry

Can I get a referral address? I'm thinking of switching from verizon to sprint. Since I'm a new customer, how would I refer you that you would get the $25?

Re: Pleeze, a little help muddling through this chicken/egg thing..

Leave your Nextel account as-is for the moment, then go to the SERO website http://sprint.com/sero to order the new phone and service at the same time. There are several phones at varying prices/features (free up to $300) on the SERO site. When you sign up for SERO on the site, they have a section you can fill out if you want to port your old number over to SERO. Go ahead and fill it out if you want to.

When you receive your new SERO-activated phone a couple days later, it will have a new Sprint number at first. Then you just have to call up Sprint and tell them you want to port your old Nextel number over to the SERO account. Should take a day or less. Your Nextel account will probably be automatically terminated at that point, but you should check w/Nextel just to be sure.

As far as the "freebies," people are trying their luck by calling up customer service to get those AFTER they have already activated the account. I haven't heard of anyone getting any freebies as part of the signing-up process, so there's no disadvantage I can see to just ordering online.

    Hope this helps!
