To be fair Cingular probably offers the most variety of phones for their new customers to choose from, but their customer service is definitely not on par with T-Mobile or Verizon, plus they offer the most expensive text messaging plans in the market right now. I am speaking from experience here. Even though I got their supervisor to admit to the fact that his employee had made a mistake on my account, he only applied a partial credit to my account.
His reason being? His employee (the person who made the mistake), did not note anything in their computer system. Can you believe that? He was willing to take side with the person whom he admitted me a mistake.:censored:

Unfortunately, I can believe it. I've had problems with Cingular in the past, but every carrier is like this. Like just about everything else in this world, you either get great service, acceptable service, or downright awful service.

I have never had anything but excellent service from Verizon Wireless, but it you ask some people on this board, they would rip Verizon up one side and down the other. It's just the way it goes. If worse comes to worse, pay the ETF and be done with them.

Sorry this happened to you. Almost everyone goes through billing issues once in a while.

I agree with everyone else, that you will get a billing issue with every carrier once in a while- the thing is are they willing to work with you to help you and fix it or will they give you an attitude.

I've also had problems with Cingular- mostly their network with the 'fewest dropped calls' and text messaging, and I agree, their text messaging is ridiculously expensive. The few times I talked to CS they were okay, nothing special and couldn't help me answer some questions.

im having a billing dispute with T-Mobile right now that is worth about $130. They won't credit it to my account but there is UPS involved and T-Mobiel not filing for a damage claim.....in this situation do you think that it would be a good idea to get in contact with the BBB or the FCC or both or neither

I thought about it again, and I will stay with Cingular. I had a problem with our 2 month old Razr. Called Cingular up on the phone, 'no problem' and they sent me a replacement razr, which I receive the next day in the mail, DHL. That was yesterday. New phone works fine.

Prepostage box and label included to send the defective one back. c/s was great. It turns out that I didn't need to call C/s, but could have done it on-line.

    Sorry you had some problems.

That's awesome. I'm glad they took such good care of you. With every company, though, you're going to find reps that either don't know what they are talking about or are not really willing to help you, and as I said before, Billing disputes happen with every carrier.

That's right. Nothing is perfect. I had shaky c/s a few years ago, but quite frankly, I've had not had to deal with c/s really since then. Billing and all have been working fine.

However, I would never let an unknown single rude employee influence my choice of carrier: That giving a stranger too much power over my life. I chose Cingular for very specific reasons: good phones, world-wide service, rollover, and decent rates. I can deal with the occasional c/s mishaps (and I had many in the past...it's much better now).

I just wear my gel insoles in my shoes and go with the flow.:) Calm behavior usually breeds the same in return.

Yep, these people aren't really regular forum users. They just need a temporary place to vent their frustration. Once that's done, they never come back. It's called ranting. But if he does come back and reads this, I'm sure he'll be upset with my comments and post something.

I have to agree that Cingular needs to work on their Customer Service. In their quest to become #1 in all aspects, they have become overwhelmingly greedy. I have a friend who works for Cingular and has for some time now. She even admits Cingular needs to work on their Customer Service. We didn't talk about the greedy part. LOL
