In MD they would also use the 'aircraft enforcement' lines for terrestrial operation of VASCAR (timing like from the planes).
I've had my 2007 Camry SE V6 (same engine/tranny as your Lex) up to 145 mph (governor limited) at the track. She had plenty to go before the nanny stepped in.
I got nailed in Jacksonville FL about 8+ years ago by Airplane, the trooper said I was going 64 in a 55 per his boss in the plane. I looked up & saw the plane circling the area & other cars getting pulled over. I got a ticket for 9 miles over the speed limit & it cost me $90.00, they let the "Local" that got pulled over with me go without a ticket. I was mad to say the least.
Fire....that sucks....9 over!? I've never written one for less than 12 over....most of mine are 20+ over. Why I wonder they bothered with you? When if they just went 2 or more cars behind you they could get someone at 80 or 90. Here, the troopers don't bother with the small speeders.....10 over....they know if they just wait another minute, they will get someone at 85+ Here in Illinois, once you hit 21 MPH over, the fine jumps to 95 bucks....about 160 if you want supervision. Okay...I found out that how they do the plane enforcement, is generally the cop in the plane signs a bunch of tickets on the ground before going up.....the ground crew fills in the rest. If it goes to court, the cop in the plane gets summoned.
It did blow me away, I had the whole family in the van & he even asked if I was a F/F, He gave me the ticket & told me to pay it right away & their won't be any points on my CDL License, which he was right about. What got me even more ticked off, after he gave me the ticket he started asking me about the Nascar sticker on the van & where I got it, I told him Pocono & he started talking about racing & Taledega, Daytona and other tracks he was at & how badly he wanted to go to Pocono. He kept me there for another 5+ minutes. Your right Jay, he just wanted my yankee dollars. Now the stop last year by a MD Trooper on 95 by the tunnels was a trip, doing 75 in a 55. He did the classic stand in the left lane to get me to pull over, but he let me go.
Ugh, I can't help but notice the markings for the air units on the thruway now. They are all over the place!
Ouch! They caught you! Sounds like fun though! Reminds me of the good old race car days...ha ha Beware of all..... they are watching :browani: :loony:
Even I am guilty of thinking in terms of "Yankee Dollars". I've been thinking of opening an antique mall in my hometown. There's a nice shopping plaza that's had a vacant grocery store in it for about 4 years now. I'm thinking I could lease half the space and make an antique mall. There's a gas station, Mc Donalds, KFC, a BBQ place, several other restaurants, and a hotel in the plaza, and IT IS RIGHT OFF OF I-95 AT THE END OF THE EXIT RAMP! I was thinking Yankee Dollar Central, but I ended up opening a drycleaners instead. -Jay -Jay
Well at least u took it on the chin Steve and didn't complain! I guess they will be doing it in Australia soon, but we're slow compared to ur Police
The great thing about where I work (corporate side of the Little Rock airport)is I know when the Police are in the air.
Ugh, I got pulled over by a local cop on monday..but thankfully he did not give me a ticket. Moral of the story is "dont cut off a cop"
I can relate! The last time I got pulled over for doing 85MPH, I got off with a seat belt violation and a warning. I often wonder, if I was a man would I have gotten off so easily.
Wirelessly posted (Ironwalt's v3c: MOT-GATW_/00.62 UP.Browser/6.2.3.4.c.1.112 (GUI) MMP/2.0) I would have ended up in jail for that bc i almost did for 84 in 55
Where are you at that the police would put you in jail just for a speeding violation? I would have to avoid that area knowing the way that I drive after work.
Weird.....I don't know how it is down in AR.....but in Illinois, speeding is not a jailable offense. If you are going 40+ MPH over, it is considered reckless driving, a misdemeanor. We can take you into custody for that....book you, fingerprint you, etc....but we can't jail you if you can't post bond, we release you on an I-BOND and give you a court date
Wirelessly posted (Ironwalt's v3c: MOT-GATW_/00.62 UP.Browser/6.2.3.4.c.1.112 (GUI) MMP/2.0) Well i was young and went 2 court where i upset the judge and i think he just wanted to put the fear into me.
Ahhhh yes...I'm sure. Judges love those 17 year old whipper snappers that have mouths.....they love to instill fear into them to curb that attitude!
Wirelessly posted (Ironwalt's v3c: MOT-GATW_/00.62 UP.Browser/6.2.3.4.c.1.112 (GUI) MMP/2.0) And that he did. I was passed by little old ladies for a long time after that.
