    Hello,

    I saw the sticky that has all the cool wallpapers and the link that Cyncyball provided to yet more wallpaper and themes;

    http://darklodge.com/phonefiles/razr/skins/XPSilver/XPSilver/

From reading other posts, it is my understanding that in order to install THEMES, it must be done wirelessly downloaded into the phone? How would one go about installing the above captioned (link) theme to his/her phone?

I have done the FREE WAP by way of proxy modification, however I do not have a wireless network adapter in my desktop PC. I am simply connected via the USB cable.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

Mark, dont touch those files with a 10' pole! haha. Those are skins for the Alltel firrmware. Any reference I have made to them is if you have flashed your phone to Alltel firmware. Themes are not the same as skins. Themes on the Verizon firmware just change the colors of the menus. The skins completely change the whole look of the phone from icons, to menus, wallpapers, etc.

(not meant as yelling, just a warning)

ANYONE READING THIS -> DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL ANY OF THESE ON YOUR VERIZON V3C OR V3M. THEY WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE!

There isnt a lot of info around here for changing themes on the verizon v3c or v3m. The only real thing you can do is change the backgrounds, but u are still stuck with the red bars. There hasnt been a huge advance yet in customizing the look of the menus etc. Progress has been made by some, but as of now, I suggest not playing around with it.

    Cincy -

with those files, if you have Alltel can you use those as new themes/wallpapers and if you can what is the proper way to install them. Just wondering since the ones that come preloaded are decent but I want to have more options.

    Chess,

I believe that you can use them on your v3m. They are technically designed for the Alltel v3c, but I cant see why you wouldnt be able to use them on the Alltel v3m. You do have the Motorola UI on your phone correct? What skins are on your phone currently? They aren't listed as themes are they? Once I can confirm that they are safe for the Alltel v3m, I will definitely let you know how to.

Actually I should have said that properly before, they are skins on the phone and there are 3 of them: Moto, Scarlet, and Techno and that's it. Hopefully that helps.

I soooo bad want to say they will work. If it was my phone, I would do it b/c I am 99% they work. But I would hate to mess up your phone. You def have Moto UI, b/c u listed typical Moto skins. Im lookin around to see if anyone w/ alltel v3m has tried it yet. Hang tight.

Yeah I did some checking on the alltel forum but didn't see anything that helped. But if they do work I can just upload them with MPT right? Let me know if you find anything out. Thanks

I looked there too, but I cant find ANY info on seem edits, hacks, etc. Its crazy. Are they NOT into modding their phones?

If you can, you would need to add them with p2kcommander 3.2.6. You would also need MSU running. The thing I would want to look at is to make sure the keys are exactly the same on the alltel v3m as they are for the v3c. If they are, the skins SHOULD be identical.

What we could do is, if you go into BitPim and right click on the Scarlet skin, and click, save directory, it will save that skin folder as a .zip. If you want to get that file to me, or file host it so I can download it, I will install that skin on MY phone. If it works, then we know they are interchangeable. And if not, at least I can fix my phone by flashing it again.
