    Hello:

Came in for some help with my LGVX5200. I bought a bargain data cable from ebay complete with cdrom. The cdrom makes my D: drive disappear from Windows Explorer. Confused. can I get some freeware which will enable me to communicate with my cellphone?

My son has Sprint and his cost per month is $82.50 too rich for his blood. I found a plan with T-mobile that sounds good: free flip phone,SAMSUNG x475, $39.99, 1500 whenever minutes, 1 yr. agreement, $3.99 equip. protect'n, plus.40 f/extra minutes. Then it says incoming calls are charged in this order:
Weekend-midnite Fri.- midnight Sun., Nights- 9 PM-6:59 AM, Mobile to mobile, then Whenever, Line fee .86. This is confusing!!! Does this mean any incoming calls are charged at the rate for the time at which they come in and that's in addition to the $39.99 phone plan? How can anyone surmise what the real charges might be? HELP PLEASE!!!

    alram, Welcome to WirelessAdvisor.
T-Mobile, just like any other US carrier, charges for outgoing/incoming calls by the time of the call.
All the website says is that if your call is on a weekend, it's deducted from your weekend bucket, if it's started during a night-time it's taken out of your night minute bucket, if it's a mobile to mobile call out of your M2M bucket and if it's a non M2M call during peak times it will be taken out of your whenever minutes.
I hope this makes more sense. :)
Incoming calls are not charged anything on top of the $39.99 if you still have minutes remaining. The $39.99 1500 minute promo does not include night or weekend minutes so anytime your son makes a call it will deduct from the 1500 minutes.

Andy's description of the T-Mobile plan is correct. The current offer is 1500 whenever minutes for $39.99 but you don't get night or weekend minutes. There is a similar plan for $49.99 that gives 1500 whenever minutes and unlimited nights (starting at 9pm) and weekends.

You'll find the Motorola Forum a helpful area. If you have specific questions about how customize your phone's firmware/flex, have a read through that forum since users like bonoriffic, Critic, MOTOhooligan and Jay2theRescue are versed in different areas of the Moto world.

I do recall that Rogers had a special GSM 850/900/1900 V300 for some time so roaming abroad would be easier.

    Welcome!!

Hello -- thank you for the warm welcome. I actually do have a question. I have been a cingular customer for over 3 years and I am not pleased with the service at all. I know several ex-cingular clients who switched to verizon and are much happier. I too want to switch, but my contract is not up yet and with 4 lines and an early cancellation fee of $175 per line, I'm looking at $700! I overheard someone at the cingular store saying that verizon will cover that fee if you switch to their service. Is this true?

Welcome to WA on behalf of a fellow Bay Area native (I'm from Redwood City),

as far as I know that normally is not the case since a carrier will only pass on the ETF if you have to leave them due to a move to an area where they don't provide coverage or if you can prove to them that the coverage is by no means acceptable despite them providing coverage to an area.

But I've never heard of a carrier covering another carrier's ETF unless this was due to something out of the ordinary (i.e. a merger where people want to switch anyway).

How much longer do you have on your contract?

I'm new to the site. I want to move my Nokia 6820 from Unicel to Cingular. To unlock it I need the Unicel provider code. Which forum is the appropriate place to post this question?
